Maxwell and Chris answer your questions and unravel the mystery of Dead Space 3.
They should have an online competitive mode so players can kill eachother like Gears of War online! I mean why not? They already f#cked the series anyways!
i have a feeling it is going to be the least scary but might be funny with that guy following you
idk, going from survival-horror to action-shooter is going to leave a bad taste in a lot of fans mouths. i think they have went in the wrong direction here especially with how popular zombies and survival have become amongst the masses lately. KISS (keep it simple stupid).
@silent_tyga Agreed, although this is kind of the opposite of your little mneumonic; EA appear to be dumbing down the arguably niche survival horror elements of the game and dumbing up the TPS bits, to tap into the Gears/COD shooter market. Which is a real shame, since Dead Space is one of the few genuine survival horror franchises active today - and a very good one at that.
Like all true survival horror games, Dead Space isn't so much about defeating your enemies as surviving encounters with them. it's about being down to half a clip of Plasma Cutter ammo, back to the wall, in a room full of grotesque and hungry necromorphs.
But what we've seen so far is a fast-paced shooter. Look at the way Isaac rolls now. He moves nothing like he did in the previous games and this just illustrates the shift in focus from EA.
It may well be a great TPS, but Dead Space is about great survival horror.
i have a question: is this game going to be "scary" in anyway at all?? cuz dead space 3 is looking like an "open ended" lost planet game so far..........
Why is everyone pissed b/c the demo showed an action packed sequence? I think they chose to show more action b/c they had to make a demo and well they wanted it to be exciting, so an action sequence was logical. If they would have shown a scary bit everone would just be like oh well its just like DS 1 & 2, but just not as scary. Besides the second game had a ton of action sequences in it, so I don't see the problem. I don't find this game to be "scary" i think it is more gruesome than anything.
in reply to your answer dear G.S: YESSSSS
if no, then i suggest publishers to don't participate in these game shows through out the year to show-case their game as people not necessarily judge by trailers, they'll just go buy the game if they feel like it...
Welcome to another episode of GameSellout. I agree with other comments that say EA has a history of ruining franchises. I will go a step further. EA ruins not only games but the developers themselves. DICE, being an example. Criterion is on it's way, though they still make good games, and of course now Viseral.
Should I judge dead space 3 by the horrible E3 demo? Probably not... But I will... you know why? Because of EA's past history of killing great franchises... YOU SUCK EA. I'm not paying you shit!
hope this series never goes all action.....I respect the series in the first place for it's horror aspect
It's really not fair how u'll have to play co-op mode in order to experience the storyline better. but by playing co-op it's just not really the same. you dont really get that sence of lonelyness and separation. it wont feel as scary as a horror genre game like this is suppose to be. plus everything just seems very opened space and not the claustophobic corridors like in the previous games. but i guess i'll never find out what it's like till i try it out.
@4514N_DUD3 he never said better. Its to learn about carver who never had a very important role til now and them not making it mandatory obviously means you dont need him for the full story but to learn more about HIM
While this video /didn't/ get me excited for the game, it's amusing how many people are talking like they've played it. (Yet I'll admit to not seeing /any/ footage about the 3rd game, just this 1 video---over speculation kills anything.)
That said, something as vast as an ice planet doesn't seem to create the claustrophobia of the previous two games. I'll can wait for this game, yet maybe in the dead of winter when this is released...it might just come together for some thing splendid.
I hated what Capcom done in RE 5 (turning a Survival Horror in a Shooter) and I think that (unfortunately) EA done the same with this game... - -'
They killed Dead Space series: No local co-op, no competitive multiplayer... How EA is defining "progress" or "development"?
EA will go down if they keep disappointing us...
I like how he looked at his paper, when he was about to say his name. Like he forgot his own name. XD
- "Damage report!"
"The angry internet men are overheating sir!"
- "Flush the core with bollocks!"
It looks like the voice actor who voiced Isaac in DS2 is returning for DS3.
Great, more dull-as-dishwater voice acting... ¬_¬
The originality and shock value of games eventually wear off. It is inevitable. You know how to fight the enemies, you see where a likely ambush will take place, and after the first playthrough those same things because even less of a threat.
Let this game stand on its own. Out and out hatred for games long before release that have little information about them is getting so old. You're entitled to your opinion, but remember it's only worth 2 cents.
Gamespot needs to do a Now Playing of 'Slender', everyone below should give it a go as well. Scariest game ever. And don't knock it until you play it yourself
I'm excited, but I think I share the worries of many who believe the series is losing its horror feel. Was the preview definable as horror or action?
@GreySeven The preview I saw at EA was very much in the traditional Dead Space style (read: horror). How much of the final game will be in this style, remains to be seen.
You bitch when they change (more importantly) add to a formula. You bitch when they don't change/add anything. Sad really!!! Dead Space's story is evolving, so why wouldn't the gameplay evolve? Roll, yeah they aren't hangin' out in clunky engineer suits. Isaac isn't going to be more prepared to deal with this sh!t? I would find it stupid if they kept Isaac feeling like this is the first time he has delt with this. Doesn't make sense at all.
For those few of you here that say "dont knock it till you have played it". "Or if your a true fan you will buy it" (which happily there really does seem to be only a few)Lets look at this realistically
So far:
Dead Space 1 over 3 systems has sold 3.5 million copies
Dead Space 2 over 3 systems has sold 2.5 million copies
Now if fans of Dead Space dont like where the game is going in its new direction, how are they going to best let EA know that? By those who bought DS1 and DS2 buying a brand newcopy each? Lets say thats 3 million copies?? Will EA take that successful launch as evidence that fans hate the new direction or will they think that gamers are dumb sheep and will just buy whatever is released? Of course they are going to think the later, and we only have our stupid selves to blame.
So how can we be sure that our money is spent on a worthy continuation of the series?
1. By NOT pre-ordering the game to begin with
2. Wait until it is released and watch portions of playthroughs by review sites such as this and many others. (preferably sites that dont get EA advertising money)
3. Carefully read reviews first, i mean they come out before the release date. (Also be cautious of reviews from sites like this that get EA ad money)
4. Finally, once you are sure the game lives up to its history than go ahead and buy the game.
OTHERWISE
If everyone preorders and buy the game as soon as it's released, then finds out it is indeed crap then complains about it like children here and on other sites what is that going to accomplish??? EA is still going to laugh all the way to the bank and will continue to do the same thing to us all over again just because you couldnt wait to follow simple steps above.
And that my friends is why our favourite series get destroyed by publishers like EA because WE tell them by our actions it's OK. Vote with your wallets guys, its the ONLY way.
@Banefire76 I won't be pre-ordering it(I usually don't anyway) but I will be waiting on release day to pick this up. I personally have confidence in Visceral that they will provide another great Dead Space game.
Open places, daylight and a partner. This game is closer to a lost planet than to Dead Space 1. Too many bug creatures to little humanoids.
completely uninterested in this game, dead space 1 was awesome the whole thing just had horror written all over it the whole point that you was a scientist with the marines was the best part and you had to find your way they should of left it, this just looks like a shoot em up, no one's judging it on a short clip, people are judging since the first was survival horror then the second lost most of that became more action and now look 3rd is an open world shoot em up
@bezza2011 That's an engineer. DS2 was perfect and brought plenty of scares for me. I also feel that DS2 story was better. The reason why people thought 2 wasn't as scary is because we have seen it before. That's all. I have no reason to jump the gun like the other nay sayers.
