http://www.gamespot.com/news/dead-space-3-will-feature-permadeath-mode-and-disturbing-dlc-6403134Two of the additional modes, Classic and Hardcore, have clearly been made with Dead Space veterans in mind. Classic mode is a single-player only affair that ditches the game's new crosshairs and resource management elements, which should make Dead Space 3 feel more similar to its predecessors. There's also a classic New Game+ mode, as well as a Pure Survival mode where everything in the game has to be crafted. "Enemies ONLY drop resources, and there’s no ammo, health, or weapon parts to be found," said Papoutsis on the Dead Space blog. "You’ll have to choose what to craft every time you see a bench. Upgrade? Med Pack? Plasma Core? Think fast -- there’s a Waster right around the corner!"Looking past the game's launch next week, Papoutsis teased some post-game campaign DLC. "The team is hard at work on a top secret additional story that will be coming in a few weeks," he said. "We're not saying much, yet - but think 'disturbing' to get your imaginations going."---

I wonder how classic mode work. I really love the ability to play the classic DS with classic weapon. Question would be how the weapon be acquired? Found in certain area or buy it with resource without using weapon craft? What difficulty level would this classic mode be?
For survival, building weapon and ammo since enemy won't drop ammo or med-kit. Since this isn't hardcore mode, I think I found a winner. Ammo, health and stasis limited, now this could be a survival horror. Wouldn't surprise if I bash them with melee (R1) or stomp (R2) button. Who know? This might be the first DS game where I ran away from a fight because I didn't have enough ammo or med-kit.
Story dlc? Wouldn't surprise if it was Lexine or her baby after maybe 18 years to see whatever happen after DS3. The only disturbing thing I could think of playing as 'Necro' invading earth or entering the marker would where we see disturbing image and history.
Wow, so many mode DS3 has to offer. Single-player, classic, pure survival, hardcore and co-op mode. If the necro appeared randomly instead of script, this game would have large replay value.

So if you want the old crosshairs you have to ditch resource management?

There's an option in game to use the old crosshairs but in classic mode it appears that u have to use the old crosshairs rather than choosing to on the other modes

There is the option in the game to give you the classic cross hairs in the game. It's in the demo version as well.

I played the demo, but I didn't notice any difference in the crosshairs. I guess I'm used to them changing between weapons so I wasn't looking closely. Can anyone elaborate on the change for me?

No. DS2 was the center screen too, but it also had the option to use classic aim.

hmm , got to look into this , the only thing I noticed was the weapon modifying that
seemed to be strange , but , I have not played since #1 I skipped #2 because what I heard
there was not a whole lots of difference ... I like this at least "the demo" because I don't feel so cooped and confined ! it looks like a goody to me !

You still have to collect resources like Semiconductor and Tungsten to make the guns. The guns allowed to use in this mode have the same effect of the guns that you could buy in DS2. Force Gun, Javelin, Contact Beam etc...
Enemies also del more damage, like in hard mode I think.
I didn't tried real survivor mode yet.

If I am not mistaken, the centre aiming show special target cursor depend on the weapon built while classic aiming used laser dot.

I'll try their new system, but will likely prefer the old one. I liked DS2's 'objective finding' feature, but still miss the DS1 'map'.

Emerson is really the only reason. When your playing late at night with the lights out and really get into the game. DS1 really pulled that off well.
