@Swift18: I know you wrote that in June, but one idea of mine that seems kinda off kilter and absolutely wrong is that because Isaac is infected the whole thing on the Sprawl is actually him delusional. It isn't right I know but it would just be kind of funny to find out that you are a tool of the Red marker and it is using you to kill people. :P

Yeah Nicole is Dead. But Issac is infected on some level and he doesn't completely realize she's dead. Example: The end credits teaser. So either you're going to discover that Issac is losing his mind or that in some strange way here consciousness is alive in the infection or monolith network it's self. Or that her death was fake "watch the anime movie and the planet side surveyor and the video feed". There are a lot of posibilities and we don't know and we won't untill the next game comes out. But I'm sure they will make this game veryyyyy intresting so I wouldn't be so negative about it.
I think this guy who is saying dead space 1 didnt have much variety in terms of environment is going to ruin the dead space 2. original dead space is genuine classic it was all about alone normal guy to encounter the horrors on space ship. this guy from visceral games really talks alot and i think they are gonna change lots of things to make it a mainstream success.
I hesitated on buying the first one for some weird reason for a year. But when I bought it I realized it was one of the greatest games ever.
I appreciate the fact that they are willing to delay the release of the game just so that it's completely ready ,no glitches , no weird shading due to the hurry of the last moment .Loved the first game , gonna love this one 2
@Incetardis like so many other horror flick zombie stories, the main protagonist usually begins as a rookie zombie slayer and and then developed in to some bad ass zombie killer, I guess Isaac is at that stage now. It sucks story-wise I agree, and I hope they can come up with better reason then Nicole is still alive. Dude, if you did play D1 then you'd know by now she is confirmed by the chapters that she's dead, all the chapters indicate to that N_I_C_O_L_E I_S D_E_A_D... Period.
Yes play by yourself in the dark. They could make other games base in this world. Titan is the only moon in the solar system with a atmosphere . Pretty cool.
No matter what you add or remove....DONT MAKE THIS GAME LESS SCARIER THAN THE LAST ONE.....
They should give them a chainsaw type weapon for close combat. Take out the long range saw gun.

I have a feeling Nicole isn't really dead. that's what issac was fighting for. what's gonna be his motivation in pt 2? I was playing it yesterday blasting away at necromorphs and one of them started crawling towards me with only one tentacle. I was like "holy sh*t that's awesome." pt 2 needs to have more unique moments like that.
@ConectionKing I like your idea of some tools that support more hand-to-hand combat. Just brainstorming ... how about something like a space-aged reciprocating saw, hand-held wrecking ball, or short-range liquid nitrogen sprayer?
i dont think the multiplayer will ruin the single player game at all but it wouldn't be much fun just like RE5 gold edition(the worst multiplayer ever) because dead space is kinda like RE5 in fighting enemies(you have to stand, aim and shoot, also you can't run while shooting) but that dosen't mean it's gonna f*** the game, this just my opinion..maybe it will turn out to be something better and bioshock 2 is nowhere near dead space to compare with..dead space 2 is gonna hunt you just like the first one did..count on that people
Omg, multiplayer is suicide. Look what happened to Bioshock 2. The multiplayer was subpar, but the single player was also a little worse than the first game as well.
I'd like control some spacecraft with Issac this time. The multi-player addition is unnecessary because it breaks down the aesthetic of the game. Also a few cutscenes showing how earth looks would be pretty cool. I can't wait to see how it turns out.
I like these guys, I have high hopes for DS2. I'm hoping for a 180 degree turn, improved enemy animations and behavior, and an improved flamethrower since the last one was a let down.
This guy has got it right. Getting feedback from the people is alway a good way to go.
Hope to see more customization in the suits such as, say, a melee orientated suit, shooter suit, tank suit, etc.
The only game that ever scared me was Doom 3 on the Xbox. I hope Dead Space 2 brings that kind of fear.
one thing they have to do is HAND TO HAND BRUTAL COMBAT!!! the gun play is sweet but it needs to have some good close quarters combat,combos, maybe a knife or blade, metal bar? melee attacks..if not the game cant realy get that much better than the first one. also two player co-op local would be the best! this and the melee would make it a 9.5/10 game

this rings a lot of bells. which fantastic horror game was it that came out, in the sequel to which they tried to focus on improving the variety of the in-game environments and giving the players more options than before and consequently it came out much, much worse than the original?
I hve da 1st 2 dead space 4 da PC, Dead Space, & DEad Space extraction. Dead Sapce 1 was jus amazin & vicious da funny ting is my friend had da 1st 4 da Xbox he cidnt handle it so he may not get da 2nd( real manly) ha ha Dead Space 2 looks very, very tight, kool & da creators who created dis game, bravo wit out dis game Horror games were on da edge of become in extinct. Good Job please dont disappoint us :)
I dont mind the fact that their adding multiplayer to the game. In fact, I think it would be pretty cool to customize your own soldier and necromorph... but I wouldn't care if it was in the 2nd. Dead Space 1 was one of the best games I ever played, and I beat it like 7 times. I dont know about you guys, but beating the same campaign 7 times is a poop load! Gonna pre order it the moment i can!
Looks sick! The first was a great single player experience imo. The only thing I would change is to have Isaac be a little less scared and occasionally unapologetically own b!tches.
@bushido_mayhem - If they bought this game out on the Wii, using WiiMotion Plus then definately...
Hopefully the disciples of the Church of the Ripper will get to see an even bigger and more brutal version of their messiah. Can't wait for this game to come out. The new Necromorph designs look pretty awesome.
Looking forward to it. Going to be amazing no doubt as long as it keeps the intense feel of the first.
All i know is Plasma Cutter = Awesome game. Also, i like how they will actually have isaac talk, because games that have the main character not able to talk just means you can't connect to the character as much and decreases the overall feel you have for him. Having him talk in this one will hopefully add in a new feel to Isaac that the last game didn't have. Enjoyed the last one of course, i just hope this one will be more of a game they wanted to do, rather then capitalising on the last games success.
I hope they offer a katana as a weapon...what better way to chop off the limbs of your foes? Needless to say, it would be pretty badass.
i know they want to come out with it this year but i really dont mind if it gets pushed back...great things take time and i'd rather it take as much time as it needs
i think visceral is ok making this second part of this scary game, its terrible!!! keep going, i hope play this one soon :D!
