Dead Space 2 is a great survivalist-thiller, but saying its superb is a bit much

The looks of it all in gameplay trailers and video teasers force you to get a copy, and although I highly recommend playing this game because I feel there is absolutely no better game of its kind out there (including Amnesia), it really is not worth the praise it receives. The game is a rush, it keeps you on your toes, and the story the game presents is absolutely phenomenal. Then on the other hand, just because it is the best of its kind does not mean it is as good as Halo: Reach, Skyrim, and Demon's Souls. Dead Space has its problems like scarcity of ammo. Even if its survivalist, you cannot survive when you have to kill your enemies with your other enemies. I would never to go as far as saying it is not a good game. It has hours of fun, twists and turns, ominous and terrifying settings, and was put together brilliantly. For that, I give it props, but to say its 'superb', it needs something iconic, and no not the Red Marker, but something that doesn't make me feel like I'm playing a slow-paced Gears of War with a lot less enemies, in the dark. It also needs this aura that cannot be explained. The feeling that when its all over you get this feeling that 'wow, that was an experience I'm glad I took my time to enjoy' not 'wow, there's a save point, led me stop and take lipitor before I get a heart attack.' Jokes aside, play the game.
