Dead Space 2 Review

Ok so dead space two has finally arrived and getting great reviews everywhere you look. That is simply because EA studios have done a stunning job. Even from the very beginning we find a lot out about Isaac Clarke's situation since dead space, and you know straight away he is going to have a rough time and a huge adventure ahead. Everything in Dead Space II grabs you straight away. The lighting gives such an atmosphere along with the sound that makes you very aware at all times. Even if it is opening a door walking round a corner you find yourself aiming your gun ready for anything that awaits you. There are plenty of moments that will make you jump out of your seat even if you think you're ready for a big scare you will soon see your wrong, and when you least expect it something will catch you of guard. This is one thing about Dead Space II that is very unique to many other games, it is very unpredictable. The story keeps you griped throughout the game, even tho there is a couple of hours in the game that feels like you repeating everything, it does not take long at all for it to pick up again and get you back to the edge of your seat. Dead Space II has a number of puzzles but not very challenging like the first Dead Space, but this cannot be used as a negative. The game is a descent length lasting between 10-12 hours of gameplay. It is also a challenging game but not to the point where it will make you want to put your controller down, if anything it will keep the controller in your hand wanting to get to the next chapter. Overall Dead Space II has a big replay value that will make you want to start all over again. Unlike the first, Dead Space II introduces the first multiplayer in the series. Overall it is very solid, it plays very smoothly with no lag or the game ending in mid-session. There are five stunning maps. Each map has two rounds where you will be human on one round and a necromorph on the other. All maps have their different objectives that bring in a great deal of team work to finish each map. This is a great factor to the multiplayer that it all falls back onto teamwork something a lot of other multiplayers lack. Even being both human and necromorph are both fun I find myself enjoying human a lot more. Necromorph's health seems to be very little but it is enough to be a pain for the attacking humans. There is an option of being five different necromophs that each have their own attacks, you can change which one you want to be at every respawn so if you feel you have made a wrong choice you are not stuck with it for the entire round. Some of the necromorphs can make the game feel like you are playing AVP which in my opinion is not a bad thing. So overall the multiplayer is not perfect , but it is a game I can see myself playing for quite some time and I am nowhere near ready to put the controller down yet!
