Loved the original Dead Space, excited for this one as well. P.S I admit the first time I watched the part where that huge Necromorph drops from the ceiling of the Church made me jump about 20 feet into the air. Glad to see the Dead Space fear factor hasn't changed. >.>

I'm playing the first one after buying it for £20 and loving it. Well creepy at times and engaging too. This one will be better I think.

I dont know where you are looking, @64-bit but there are always some overpriced tvs in every range. They spec them up with all features and release them as the best of the best for people whom money is no object. They are usually not the best tv, and never the best pound for pound. Im guessing you are referring to a sony or Lg thats expensive. Anyway a quick look at that site agreed with me no? Trust me plasmas dont lose their "blackness" quick, im not sure where they got that from in their test. Screen burn is near impossible to get that you mentioned so dont worry about that, that happened 5-10 years ago. You would have to leave teh same image on day after day to burn it. Just be carefull for the first few weeks when the tv is new, after that no need to worry i can tell you that from experience.

I would say if you like games most of all above all else, then yes lcd can be best because the colours are brighter more artificial (like games lol) but if you want it for cinema too on your bluerays then there is no competition!

Have fun! Hope to see you in dead space 2

    @Dominicobaggio
dude here is a link for the top plasma tv agaisnt the same size on LCD,you can see plasma is cheaper,
http://reviews.cnet.com/best-hdtvs/ and for that failure rate i dont think so dude Samsung is the world number 1 TV, LCD, LED, maker and seller not only that but also provide them to alot of high brand you know like Sony and others, and btw they dont have higher level of failure can you prove it? and LCD is better deal for non image quality seeker cause you know plasma has a serious problem of loosing image quality and black level over short periods of times, not to mention burn in and shadows problems, thats why its not ideal for games since games has a lot of still images.i do agree with you though on that specs and features numbers are pointless and unreliable, image quality what matters. thats why no one can beat the pioneer KURO yet after many years with all this false umbers. regards.

. You can throw all sorts of numbers and geeky tech things but still realise they are manufacturer spec. Often wrong always under the best circumstances. The samsung backlit led tvs for eg show high 200-300 hz refresh, but yet still stutter on a speed test which a 100hz plasma cope with easily. Maybe you cant see it because not everyone can notice the difference. Secondly contrast ratios are a non starter, especially since there is no industry standard to measure it (some manufacturers measure the blackness with the tv off...) So stats are pointless but fun i guess, if you like that sort of thing. Its like camera enthusiasts who judge a camera by how many mega pixels. lol I want a 12 megapixal camera, its got more pixies so it has to be better!

@64-bit plasma is cheaper in cheaper makes. ie samsung make low grade plasmas so they are cheap. As i said they concentrate on lcd as thats where the profit is, also most shops will display lcd as they have a bigger margin. Some people see those displays in shop and think that makes them the best lol. Samsung have a pretty high failure rate (it was massive about 2 years ago) so much so they run out of parts sometimes to uk supply. They are good at phones (hence the 2 year guarantee they give) but not so much with tvs (which is why they refuse a guarantee past 1 year.

@supernaught360 i started reading your post and got to the bit where you quoted me as saying "colors" and realised you cant read. Its colours. Run some speed test videos (how is a speed test video outdated when its a moving image you watch to see if it blurs?!?!?) Im thinking you are talking about 21" tvs, in which case you are right they are better than 21" plasmas (caus they are not manufactured...)

@Dominicobaggio Well, for starters, instead of saying "plasma has prettier colors" you might want to put a more cogent argument - or at least respond to any of the points I made, of which you avoided. Here's an example: Modern LCD Displays render at a 2ms refresh rate, which is invisible to the human eye, and non-detectable in the speed tests you mention. That's just a fact. You didn't respond or argue with this - you just mentioned outdated "speed tests" that haven't been accurate since LCD's overcame the refresh problem with a 2ms refresh time.

Secondly: aperture values and gradient color ratios are equal across the board between Plasmas, and modern LCD's. That's just a fact. Pentile displays have rendered any advantage of plasma gas pixels completely negligible.

Third: Contrast ratios between the two technologies have been equal (or better on LCD in some cases) for at LEAST 2 years now, so eat it.

Last: Where do you get your info, brainiac? From a 2006 issue of Consumer Reports? You're arguments would have been accurate then, but unfortunately for you, are irrelevant now.

i dont know about the prices on your country but in my country plasma is cheaper than lcd or led, and samsung still produces plasma, last year their top line tv was better than Panasonic, but panasonic gained it back with this year models big reason 3d is way better than the competion on panasonic not to mention the awesome 2d picture quality, i agree plasma now is the king of home theater, and cheers mate for DS2.

@64-bit oled is good i have it on my phone but its a few months/years off tvs and i dread to think of the cost of a large tv. I have seen a 3d surround demo model samsung are researching which stretches round your living room like imax and i can say its f@#ing mint.... prolly need a mortgage for it though

as for dead space 2? Wow cant wait to play it on my neo pdp

@supernaught360 you realise how smug and arrogant you sound?

You are pretty wrong in most things you have said. Working in the industry i can tell you plasma is the best display for tv.

Its faster response times and more cinema realistic colours mean that for experts plasma is the best system. If you buy a decent brand (ie panasonic) you wont be repairing it as you say.

Finally the reason why samsung and sony dont make plasmas is because they have decided not to try to compete at the top end of the market. Plasma is too expensive to develop and too expensive to create. Customers now are more for cheap products (ie xbox etc) so samsung and sony have set to try to develop tvs near to plasma quality. They are aming for mid market, and samsung have dedicated their top end research to led tvs (which are overhyped overexpensive but do look nice if you wall hang it)

Now a lcd is no where near the quality of plasma in a big screen. Just run a speed test blue ray on one and watch the lag, compare teh colours to a cinema screening and see which is nearest.

The only reason to get an LCD would be if you cant afford plasma tech, you want a small screen, or you are misinformed (worried about screen burn, plasma needing refilling, and other urban legends) or if you are attracted by artificially bright colours for cartoons rather than realistic "as the director intended" colours.
