Dead Rising involves doing tasks in a zombie infested mall while trying to escape. You are a photojournalist who has gone to figure out what is going on, so you get a ride on a helicopter and have to get back in time to get picked up. The zombies are held off by the survivors until an old lady opens the door and lets the zombies in, so you have to save other survivors and take them to the safe room. The zombies are everywhere and there are very few non zombie areas, so you have to use anything to survive from trashcans to soccer balls. There are bosses, psychos are pretty much it they hard to kill and are very heavily armed. Power points are the only way to upgrade your character, you can unlock power points by taking pictures, killing zombies, and completing task. By upgrading you unlock special moves like a round house kick or a suplex. You can also change your characters cloths and hair at stores. Your character can not take many hits, apples, juice, and anything else that can be eaten or drunken will heal you, but alcoholics will heal you, but if you drink to much side effects will set in making it hard to fight. This game is fun, the controls take a long time to get used to, but this game is a must play for any fan of zombies.
