how would you like to play George A. Romero's Dawn of the dead?
you start the game as the protagonist Frank West, a freelance photographer in search of an interesting story. and somehow ends up stuck in a mall infested with zombies for three days.
and in order to survive frank has to hack, slash and shoot his way to uncover the hidden truth behind this gruesome tale.
in dead rising you get to kill zombies.... and kill them u shall. because in this mall there are literally hundreds of zombies on screen just waiting to get the taste of your tender flesh.
and the best part about this is that you can kill them with almost anything you can grab. from lethal knifes to a cardboard box. so basically everything in this mall is a weapon. but some are of course more effective than others, its only common sense that a shovel does more damage to a man/zombie than a water pistol or throwing jewels or CD trays at them.
even though this game can get a bit repetitive there is plenty more to this game than just killing zombies. you spend most of your time solving the mystery of the zombies and trying to save the surviving people that have not succumb to the wrath of the zombie genocide, or fighting the occasional "boss battles" with psychopaths that have clearly lost there minds in the traumatic event that has taken place in their peaceful little town.
the worst thing about dead rising is probably the save system. the save system in dead rising is awful, poor and punishing to say the least. because if you choose to save the game where you have low health or a major boss battle is near and you are nowhere ready, you cant restart at an earlier time in the game, its just game over for you and you have to start the game all over again.
i found the game a little difficult to start with, you can expect to die a lot in the beginning. so you will have to start all over when that happens, but on the bright side you keep all of franks progress and levels. so each time you decide to play dead rising you always get further and further along the way.
But overall a great game and i highly recommend it for all xbox 360 owners.
