I remember being in the local arcade waiting my turn while watching 2 other people fight. Well playing DOA:U gives you that same feeling. The single player is really the same before so I'm gonna talk about the online play. The online function of this game IMO is the best of any game running on Xbox Live right now. You can have up to 8 peeps in a game and 2 people can fight while the others watch and chat. It's very easy to stay in a room with that many people and just wait your turn. If you happen to be playing with some good people you can figure out a strategy to beating the winner of the match before you. From what I can tell the online modes bring something that fighting fans will enjoy for a long time, or until Halo 2 comes out.
