This is a much more balanced and better-looking game than Tekken Tag 2, as much as I love me some Tekken(s)!
donald duck reviewing it,,it barely sounds like he playd it,,he moslty stood around the creators of the game and other news ppl,,the nhe just had just enoough material to review it;p
I only play fighting games for the occasional stress relief, so I'm not the kind who plays them for the sake of a challenge. That said, can anyone tell me if DoA5 is more accessible to "casual" gaming than the previous game (DoA4)?
I've played the first three, and they were all ok on that department, but the fourth was just too punishing and I given up on it. I'm hoping this one is a step back to roots.
@EvanescentCrow It's not too bad up through normal difficulty. I still think Virtua Fighter 5 is the best game for balanced combat and CPU difficulty.
I'm not normally a critical person at all, but this was one of the worst reviews I've seen on this site.

Yeah it is a very good game dude! I find that the only letdown is they took out Team battle mode which was awesome in DOA 3 & 4 but otherwise its heaps of fun & the introduction of a Powerful Supermove for each character is awesome & done in a stylish way! Online is very fun & addictive too! : )

does anyone know if this improves on the difficulty fairness from DoA 4? I remember loving that game except in the story mode or whatever i remember that there were more than a few occasions where i chucked my controller in frustration especially in those boss battles. i remember always being in the lead and then the computer would go ape shit on me and wreck me in some insane combo that i could never get out of!
i know i wasnt the only frustrated player with DoA4's fairness either.
So i ask, does anyone know if DoA5 is a big improvement in balance & fairness?
because all in all, it doesn't look THAT much different to me than DoA4.
Then again it's been a few years since i played so i could be wrong...

1 Like Well da only letdown is Stupidly there no Team battle mode, which for me anyway was da best single player mode in DOA 3 & especially 4 which was very challenging yes indeed & DOA 5 actually has a storyline, nothing too long but much longer cinematcis & a few fights with each 20 characters in between 71 short missions all up in story mode. Overall difficulty is about the same as DOA 4, still very tough! But story has easy & hard tho da other modes has 5 different difficulties starting from rookie to champ, & 2 even harder modes that have to be unlocked playing on hard I guess. Online play is awesome which is actually new to me & I am having as total ball online! Mega fun, you will like it for sure, & a new supermove for each character is pretty cool! Buy it dude!
1 Like @Fist-of-Fury360 I used to like team battle too. It doesn't make sense to me that they'd drop the mode, but maybe they did some research and found that most players don't use the mode.
Nice to know that someone asides from myself also liked team battle mode! Yeah it was a lotta fun!......oh well glad I'd still got DOA 3 & 4 tho online DOA 5 is awesome!
so they put an ex or super combo from sf and a bound type combo from tekken...nice but having that one button counter ruins the game

why they have it only 7.5.....it should be way better score than this. IGN gave it 8.8....WTF
@moontecker ign always rates games higher....you can go praise the game on that website if it makes you feel better
1 Like Wow...textbook study in how NOT to do a review. Sounds like he's reading a script written by the guy who actually played it. There's absolutely no sense of an emotional connection to the game, whether good or bad. Putting aside the specific reasons, you know a review hasn't done its job when all it does is give you an overwhelming urge to watch another review.
@shantd Look at Ign video review. Their reviewer actually sounds like he played the game.

@SeptuagintXXX How else are they supposed to make money to pay the bills salaries? should they turn this into a paysite where you pay the low price of 9.99$ every month to watch reviews and such.
1 Like @ExplicitMike @SeptuagintXXX I use Ad Blocker and it works wonders on every website, including Gamespot, as far as pop ups and banner ads go. But for some reason ads on videos, be it gamespot or ign or even youtube etc, ads on video players don't get blocked...
This is the most apathetic sounding review I've heard in a while. Will be heading to another site to see if anyone interested has played the game.
