The game's good, but the system is dead. everything that doa2 has doa2 hardcore has in spades. this one appears a bit more crisp in the animations, but that's it's only discernable advantage. it's largest disadvantage...that the dreamcast is dead. too bad. i imagine it could have saved sega if their console hadn't acted like an anchor dragging it down.

so, for what it is, the fighting is tight, as per usual the breast physics are grade a, the story is infantile at best, but boy it sure is pretty. team ninja also continues it's heritage of ridiculously tough final bosses ala snk in their hey-day.

the fight style does however boil down (again) to a game of rock paper scissors. you can attack/block/counter/or throw. one cancels the other, cancels the other, cancels the other. so the major detractor to the game was the fact that no matter how well you'd trained. any idiot opponent can just guess right and shut you down. i guess the intent was to balance all fighters. what it accomplishes is annoying instead. team ninja is lucky all the girls are hot.
