Dead Island will be playable at E3, but until then, this teaser trailer for the zombie-bashing game will have to tide you over.
Just another zombie game...how original
kinda reminds me at the beginning of zombieland when the dudes running from the bathroom and that zombies chasing him but she has no top on. This game looks like the best zombie game yet though
i sense the smell of nudity in this game lol!
They know how to make a trailer. I love the music too, i hope they release a soundtrack if its that good in game. But id like to see at least a glimpse of some in game footage. I love the CGI trailer.
Nice game
A good zombie game can contribute a wonderful gaming night.....especially if you keep the lights off and play with friends....
@ HT89488 wow man, give it a rest huh?..
The Lost-esque music was a nice touch. Now as long as it makes more sense than Lost I'll be happy
you can't hang yourself from a palm tree, branches are to weak. I get it though, they had to keep the "island" theme. This game looks awesome though.
REAL GAMEPLAY FOR DEAD ISLAND! 11 MINUTES OF REAL GAMEPLAY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EL_Wcs3GcDY PLEASE SUBSCRIBE! ITS AWSOME
im so glad they continued to make this game, i remember just seeing images of it in 2005 and now its finally developing looks great
These trailers seem to be misleading people, whenever I hear about a gaming journalist who got their hands on this game they said it was a goofy, melee focused game.
i do hope this game will be good, look at Brink, the trailers were so good that people wanted the game without seeing the gameplay, when the gameplay camed out it seemed sick for everyone, but when the game came out, it was bad and got 6.0 WHAT IF THIS HAPPENDS TO DEAD ISLAND ;(???!!!
why there is no Hi-Res Mpeg download?is this gamespot's new policy?
I am deffinitley getting this one, i normally dont play zombie games but this looks worth the money. Really hope it keeps the tone of the trailer.
theres no way that the picture quality is 720p. I want answers
These trailers are making me drool right now. COME OUT NOW!
They pretty much are making a movie... that over-hyping CG trailer and now this teaser. And yet no gameplay video to be seen, anywhere. I thought it was supposed to be a video GAME.
They shud make a movie haha :P would be so freakin awsome
this cant be good believe me
The trailers for the game makes me get it already without watching its gameplay.
Hope the game will be as good as the trailer!
It sure has hell looks pretty (maybe I'm just reminded fondly of the lush green of Cysis) but the details on this title are pretty thin which has me thinking it's gotta good chance of being just another boring shooter exploiting the done-to-death (wicked bad pun) zombie genre. I hope I'm wrong but don't plan on raising my hopes on this one. That to say Im deeply impressed with the composed (music) piece they keep featuring on the teasers..... maybe the game itself will be just as well done.
this game has alot of potential zombie games or games overall that lets you pick-up weapons and items and kill stuff is a positive well atleast for me
@NotJackieChan My misunderstanding then. I was under the impression that you were saying gaming as a medium can't make a serious zombie game work, and therefore, they shouldn't even try. I agree with you on the point that the screenshots don't seem to fit the dramatic tone that the trailers set.
Can this game live up to it's trailers? Wow
@jmace1 I absolutely want it to be serious, but from what I've seen from screenshots, it will not be that way at all. My argument is that they are marketing it as something that it probably won't be, which will make this game a great disappointment.
for Christs sakes... when the hell is it gonna be released? i just.... want it so bad
One thing is for sure with this game. They really know how to advertise it. Which could help or hurt it. Expectations are going through the roof now.
I hope this can live up to its hype.
Nice. Can't wait for this to drop. I hope it gives us a unique experience and at least a 4 person multiplayer.

Theres no doubt that this game will be an ace. A lot of games that werent hyped up to an extreme amount did well this year. I just hope they really implement teamwork and modify a leveling system where you're not completely over powered and can take on an...island...of zombies by yourself; which is why the stamina system has interested me a lot. I've been following this game ever since it was announced to come out in 2008, it would be nice to actually see some game play footage, this is more of a terrain overview which is equally as good but hopefully in the near future we will get to see some hands on videos, instead of reading about it.
@NotJackieChan I think the emotional angle is a very refreshing take on zombie games. It only takes a few games to ruin the over-the-top action feel.
@NotJackieChan Is it that hard to comprehend why they don't want to make a L4D or Dead Rising clone? IMO, The best action adventure RPG hybrids always have an emotionally gripping story like Mass Effect. I for one appreciate a zombie game going for a more serious approach to the "zombie" genre. The Walking Dead proved a serious approach to a zombie apocalypse can work for TV so now lets see if Dead Island can do it for video games.
The game looks good and I want to play it, but I don't get why they continue to go for this overly emotional angle. There's no way it will live up to that. In the end, I'm sure it will be just like Left 4 Dead, but open-world with melee. I don't see any way for this game to make an extremely emotional connection to the player, other than in cutscenes.
This game is gonna rock.
Zombieque!
Has anyone seen the Backwards trailer for this game with the young girl going through the window? It looks like a lot of effort went in making the ad. The same music that features on this trailer is on it and to me it gives the feeling of the television series of "Lost?" I am sure most of you will have seen the backwards trailer but if you haven't it is available for download through Xbox live... It's great!
Can't wait for an official release date so I can start counting down the days.
The "I'sland is go GREAT!
I am already following this game. Surely will pick it up...!! It has a Resident Evil feels to it and I hope we see darker sides too...!!!
Really interested in both the game mechanics and the story. Hope it'll be a consistently good game. Looking forward to any previews/reviews
That was really cool... The guy hanging looked like he was holding a gun at first. I like the duplicity. I hope this game carries a lot of emotionality like Heavy Rain did... However minus the choice making and rather a cool emphasis on action.
I'm getting this no matter what! lo/ I'm curious about how it will end already XD
Wow, a game people arent hating on? This one will probably be a winner.
I think this is going to be the next best video game of 2011
I hope this game has more to it than just its gameplay. From the first trailer, the reason everyone was so excited was it promised a zombie game with a deep, emotional storyline. Hopefully it fully delivers and isnt just a Dead Rising with melee weapons on an island.
i cannot wait to see the gameplay for this
