Dead Island is an engrossing game but not without its flaws.

There is a lot to love in Dead Island. Its open world, beating zombies to death, joining up to 3 other friends and exploring the island. There are slight bugs prevalent once you get to play the game, but nothing that is game breaking.

The Steam version of the game, which is the version I had, was the developers version of the game. This version however was promptly patched and started working, although not for everyone. It seems that there are many issues with people not being able to play the game, which is why some people may rate the game low. I for one, have had the honor to play the game, and once inside, it is a lot of fun.

In terms of options, it seems that the developers may have overlooked the PC platform, as you cannot change the FOV, or fine tune the game without opening up essential game files and changing them within there.

Items seem to break down easily, but for me that adds to the charm of the game. Making weapons out of miscellaneous items and gluing them together should not create an indestructible weapon, you can also upgrade the weapon so it causes more damage and lasts longer. The degrade of items may be a tad bit to much, however it is almost perfect.

Another thing I like about the game is the rarity of ammo for guns. If ammo was easily found, I think it would take a lot of charm out of the game, and change the overall vibe.

Overall I am happy with my purchase, and am glad that I have a chance to survive the plague of Dead Island!
