Good intentions. Almost makes it.

This is my first review. First, a few disclaimers. I am writing these reviews from a BUYERS perspective, even though I only rent games now. Because video games are so expensive, I think that you should get value for your money. Secondly, and MOST importantly, I DO NOT factor storyline into my review score. One of my favourite games of all time is Super mario bros 2. Save the princess, that was the ONLY story. Still an excellent game. If you want a good, gripping, story, watch a fricken' movie!
On with the review. Borderlands, Left for dead, dead rising, ALL excellent games. What would happen if you combined them all? DEAD ISLAND.
Yes, this games IS good. If you liked the above games, then you will like this. It borrows (steals?) all the best aspects of these games.
Long story short, if you liked Borderlands, left for dead or dead rising, then you will probably like this.
Visuals = 8/10
Gameplay = 7/10
Replay = 9/10
Overall = 7/10
