I believe that it is considered blunt. Everywhere i have looked people have said fists are blunt. Makes sense to be blunt anyways.

Didn't realise it was either, since technically fists aren't weapons, in fact, they are specifically a lack of a weapon.

Considering there are separate achievements for using blunt weapons, sharp weapons and only your fist I'd say they are not counted as a weapon... not sure though

Easiest way to see this is to kill some Zombies with your fists and check to see if your rage meter increases. Of course this will only work if you have the skill that adds rage when you kill with a blunt weapon active.
