Clearing up a very harsh review.....

I've played the first Dead Island and when I found out it was an open world zombie slayer sandbox, I was sold. GameSpot gave the first one a 7 and Riptide more or less is exactly like its predecessor with some added extras like the ability to drive boats and the introduction of a hand-to-hand combat master named John, yet they gave this game, IMO, a very unfair 4. Yeah the story is awkward and not that intriguing but any true gamer knows its about the game play and not the graphics and story (not to mention it shines when playing with your friends online). If you are looking for spectacular graphics and a mind blowing story, then watch a movie. What i'm trying to say here is, if anything, Dead Island: Riptide, is the same great loot grabbing, zombie slaying, mod crafting sandbox you remember with a lot of welcome additions, straight into the action game play, and lots of new weapons including wolverine claws and sniper rifles, BOOM! head shot. So if you are a GameSpotter who decides whether or not to buy a game strictly on the score it was given, do some research, try it out, and if you played the first one, you're sure to enjoy it.
