Head Swapping = Fun Guaranteed..!

User Rating: 7.5 | Dead Head Fred PSP
We have the chance to control Fred Neuman, private dick... Poor fellow had an.. "accident" with the boss of the mob and ended up decapitated.. Thanks to the efforts of Dr Steiner our lead, revived, character now posses the hability of removing his "Head" ( a jar filled with gin where only his brain and eyes are floating ) and switching it with the ones of the enemies.. Now his main reason to fight is getting his head back..

Well, this tittle is an excellent one if you're one of those -quests fans. Yes, LOTS of missions are available while you have to deal with the mob minions; in weird and nasty places. ( Yes, Nukular energy can be a bit... damaging for the environment ) Also, tons of characters, shops, and items to buy-sell.. Very RPGish for some moments - Go ask him this, now go tell her that - yada yada.. Not recommended for the weak of heart; it contains non-explicit adult content, and cursing..

Combat options, can be a bit a bit lame.. The combos you can make are very limited.. But the fact of swapping heads for counter-attack different enemies, can give a little bit of spice. After a while it can get a bit frustrating the fact of being pressing "square, square, square, square" non stop for finishing up minions.. More when you have 4 enemies surrounding you... Not to mention the fact that the Camera Angle is very, VERY limited. You can only use it while on blocking mode; so you can't move.. It's slow as hell.. You can get damaged a bit while attempting to make a turn with the camera. Also the camera is not a good companion in matters of following action. You can be bustings someone's head against the floor and the camera will be aiming to the sky; and there's nothing you can do about that!

Soundtrack filled with gangsters tunes, very simple.. But catchy..John C. McGinley ( Dr Perry Cox from Scrubs ) made an excellent job ( my opinion ) giving voice to Fred. It could have been better if they added some "echo" and bubbles sound while speaking, just like the first trailer did.. That way the voice wouldn't have been so superposed to the character. It doesn't sound like is Fred who's speaking... Because HEY, he has his brains inside liquid, and a weird artificial-life-support thing which allows him to "live" and speak...
Well.. I have to admit, that it grows on you.. You can spend a couple of hours in a round playing it.. It's not boring, just... unnecessary long.. But I recommend it if you like RPG-like games, with a twisted plot.

I'm giving it a 7.5!
