DCS: Black Shark was first and foremost designed to be the most realistic simulation of the Ka-50 possible. This was done with a combination of accurate systems, flight dynamics, damage modeling, and graphics. The DCS world is an improvement upon earlier Eagle projects, but it is an evolving and improving aspect of the simulation that will grow with the DCS series. This is in addition to the improvements in gameplay such as the new campaign system, mission editor and helicopter AI.
Mutiplayer DCS Black Shark is focused on cooperative team play using the inter-flight data link system. As new aircraft modules are added to the DCS battlespace, head-to-head type gameplay will become much more viable.
The next DCS aircraft module will be the A-10C Warthog, and this will build upon the Close Air Support mission environment started with Black Shark but will improve upon it.
