DCUO is overall a good and fun game and noteworthy because it successfully brought some light to mmos on the console.

Dcuo should be played on the ps3 only. The pc version never took off right and the game is built for a controller. you of course can use a controller on the pc, however the ps3 community is much more abundant. Dcuo is very fun to level even though the quests aren't particularly special. Quests do start off with a narrative or cutscene mostly to reinforce the story, which definitely helps because quests normally consist of killing this or bringing back that.

Because there's alot of world pvp in DCUO (if you choose a pvp server) it can make the world and questing feel much more tense and dangerous. The world, made up of Metropolis and Gothem is done pretty well but also feels alittle small compared to most mmorpgs yet pretty immersive and the size actually improves world pvp a great deal.

Unfortunately, when you get to max level however, the game is a pretty bad grind. You essentially run "dungeons" over and over for tokens and use that to upgrade gear. They do have "raids" though and they can be quite difficult. It is worth to note that many free to play or buy to play mmos do not have raid modes yet DCUO does. They also have "battlegrounds" and those are pretty decent. The dungeons in dcuo are not amazing by any stretch of the word but are still pretty fun. The graphics are good but not great. The talent system in Dcuo is pretty good. Like Gw2 and Rift, you can have a home instance. They have an interesting pvp mode now where players can que up and fight one on one in eachother player's instance.

The gameplay and combat is action style mostly with a tab like targeting system. The combat is fast and overall, good but sometimes targeting can be a pain when there are multiple enemies They've added a ton of expansions since release so you may end up paying alittle more than you expect to get into dcuo. For some reason, as i said, the leveling was really fun for me. You can make your hero pretty unique as far as ability choices are concerned, which is nice. There's a pretty good player base in dcuo so the world will feel pretty alive, and dangerous if you choose a pvp server.

Overall, DCUO is a good choice because it's free to play mostly. There are expansions that you can purchase and it's a good idea to do that. The leveling is pretty fun, especially on a pvp server. And although the questing is the same old stuff, there's some good content and memorable times to be had here.

-Graphics 7.5/10
Good, especially for a console game. But not great.

-Gameplay 7/10
Fast and fun action combat though targeting can be finicky and movement and overall control can feel alittle off at times.

-Animations(combat, movement & particles) 8/10
Overall good attack animations and spells though movement can look alittle strange.

-Questing 6.5/10
Quests normally start with a narrative or a cutscene which improves upon most mmorpgs and makes tasks somewhat enjoyable and memorable. Unfortunately those tasks are mostly repetitive and tired.

Immersion (storyline, lore, environment, soundtrack) 7.5/10
Soundtrack is fitting but doesn't seem enough. The lore is very strong because of the superhero world you live in and the storyline is clear and interesting. The world itself feels pretty small though and not as alive as it should.

-PVP 6.5/10
Excellent world pvp on pvp server only. decent "battlegrounds." interesting 1v1 staged battles. No team-based, ranked arena-style mode and no real innovation.

-PVE (dungeons, bosses and endgame) 7.5/10
A good number of "dungeons," "raids" and world type bosses however endgame feels very grindy at times.
