Wow, first they're having fun.. god forbid people to that anymore.. Second, the MOD is in Alpha, stop whining about it. If you cant take it as it is, free by the way, then wait for the standalone. jeebus.
i agree with gilangbha partially, the game will stay popular for life without a doubt XD. BUT. they should make some... "fun"... events, for people playing, like "a helicopter full of weapons and ammunition was dropped in ____, and its surrounded by zombies", you know, to make people wanna team up for the weapons, then maybe not so many bandits will be bandits haha.
Its because assholes like u (say friendly and hack him ) that the game isnt that much fun anymore!
I'm a bit let down by the graphics and animation. For a book that's so dark and real this game doesn't even attempt to capture that same world.

they really2 should make an event inside this game, before the mod just losing its charm in boredom
this game look glitchy..lag..and its kinda boring....or maybe becoz the vids..i dunno..mehhh..i watch till 12.28..its funny at 1st...and then..i was like wtf?..lol..
Day Z is going to be the next big thing in gaming. If there aren't 20 big budget clones of this thing within three years I'll be surprised. The buzz around it really reminds me of the days when Counterstrike was just a new mod. A few years later it was the industry standard for shooters, and the thing everyone was trying to replicate or polish.
wish I had money to buy this right now :((
been reading about it on a website and the stories seem awesome, just give people a good sandbox to enjoy it and make their own rules

2 Like Best online game in years imo, just love it! Lately I have been roleplaying as a medic and helping people (giving them blood bags or morphene,etc..), amazing hwo much fun this game is when you learn everything.
Out of the 9 people I have saved, only ONE has killed me after healing them.
I couldn't finish this.
Every time I watch DayZ streams, aside from the typical groups of friends, it's strangers just building up false trust with each other, then killing the other person. Over and over and over and over and over and over and over. And over. Survival my ass. It seriously loses it's flare after the 2nd time. Then again, people are still making "arrow to the knee" jokes. So to each his own I guess...
2 Like @OGKNavThis mod reminds me a lot of the movie The Road. It was also very grim and showed people doing anything to survive in a constant grey postapocalyptic world. People would really kill you just to take what little you had, so that they could survive a bit longer (or eat you to survive). It didn't do to that well commercially, which is probably because it was too realistic and depressing. There aren't enough of an audience for interesting displays of humanity's darker sides. I liked it though. It's interesting from a moral and social standpoint, but that doesn't necessarily translate into a good game experience and getting screwed over by jerks and paranoid people might turn some people off.
@OGKNav As interesting as it was initially, it never really grew to the point of not still feeling like a mere mod. For most, the repeated "betrayals" seems like the only real payoff.
Yeah I tend to feel bad for killing recently spawned players. If I'm already set for gear, I feel it's unfair to run around killing them from 600m out with a sniper or assault rifle. It's much more fun pvp killing fresh spawns with an axe or a makarov. An even playing field! I think it might be different for Au or NZ servers though, as I remember hearing how they're more PvE friendly than the NA, Eu, or RU servers. I know I hardly ever run into actual friendly people in my NA playthroughs.

1 Like I am sorry but a game that is PVP all the time is just stupid. I like survival horror but just PVP all the time on is just not worth my time. Yes I installed the game and logged in to nowhere and then heard that I can be killed at the new spawn point. Sure as anything someone came gunning and killed me. Sorry but make PVP and PVE servers NOW!
@awfitzwater this game is meant to be realistic.. like in a life real zombie apocalipse.. arma 2 is great for that because you need to eat and heal yourself, etc... and im pretty sure in a real situation like this ppl would kill each other for food, ammo, etc..
4 Like @awfitzwater PvE in this game gets boring rather quickly. There is a lot more entertainment to be found with a mix of the two. I don't see this game as a pure PvP game at all, I only shoot people when I need to so there have been many instances when I let people walk on by.
There are a lot of jerks in this game to be sure, but there are also a lot of level headed players who just want to enjoy the game like you.
