Poor control scheme and high difficulty level detract from a game that is targeted at a younger audience.

They got the genre and the feel right, but the dark and dreary world of Haven doesn't transfer very well to a PSP, whose LCD screen tends to blur dark colors whenever you turn. This game is true to the Jak'n'Daxter franchise with both it's presentation and gameplay.

Both my kids and I have enjoyed playing all the games in this series, but this one left my kids behind. The difficulty level is far too high for my kids to get, and the non-linear gameplay from Jak 2 and Jak 3 are here in spades, which further serves to throw off the elementary schoolers that were much more comfortable with Jak 1's linear gameplay progression.

The controls are a tad bit sluggish in response, which only adds to the excessive difficulty level in a twitch 3d immersion platformer.

I can't help but think this game could have been vastly improved when compared to Ratchet and Clank - Size Matters.

A rare miss for the folks at Sony.
