I did not expect a RTS from Ubisoft to be so good. Luckily Blue Byte gave it a Settlers 2 touch to it. It's more than...

This game had no publicity. I personally did not hear anything about it's development, launch date, demo or anything of sorts.
I was and I still am a Settlers 2 fan, for those of you who do not know the game Settlers 2 was made by Blue Byte too and it marked a new beginning and a new type of game play.

I started the campaign finished it and then the first easy scenario.
I must say that the game has that touch that makes you feel the developers, programmers and testers loved working on it and made a masterpiece.

I bought the game out of curiosity after finding out that Blue Byte had a hit at it. And I was terribly right :). This game was the second awesome surprise for me (after Zeno Clash) this year.

The music is great, the campaign sucks you in, the characters ether make you sick or make you wanna hug 'em, good voice acting and credible characters make a story that you want to fallow.

There are a few glitches here and there but I must say I got 2 errors in over 100 hours of play and one time I think it was my fault.

The game is intuitive, very little combat orientated, I am really sorry there is not a multiplayer mode in it, a survey I took after playing the game had a question about a possible addon for the game and one option was multiplayer, so I think that could happen in a near future.

Sadly I tried to finish a scenario in one start to end and I failed, I think I am near half way and too tired to continue. It's NOT the kind of game you can simply let it play to get resources, you always got something to do. You can manually transport resources, expand your domain, build new industries, go purchase goods from allies, go purchase ship addons from allies and... something that really gives this game life are the quests that the computer players and different NPC characters give you.

Anyways there is so much to say and so little time to write it (gotta go play more :) ).

This game is a lot of fun but requires a lot and I say A LOT of time, but if you have the time it is a nice way to spent it.
