Quirky 2D Fighting Fun, its Street Fighters' cousin Arnold.
Guilty Gear gets points for random zaniness. Darkstalkers Chronicle gets points for zaniness within motif. Darkstalkers wins. Why? I believe their is something to be said, for Monsters Fighting Monsters. What could be better? Let's face it, pretty much a 2D fighter is a 2D Fighter...more or less. Within game design, your only armed with two punches,or two kicks...two special moves(you pick the metaphor here) Concept and execution.
Concept....who loves monsters...gee, everyone. Playing a monster, makes for immediate investment in character. That's what you want. Right? Drawing from Darkstalkers(Original) and it's brothers, you have at your disposal 18 likable characters to invest in. Sure everyone will have fav's, and with 18 , it puts enough choices at your disposal.
Round two...Fight!
The PSP handles the animated 2D action perfectly. From a bygone era, to be sure, but no ones kicking Van Gogh, out of bed. My point, it looks great and one could say it can look no better.

It's a Classic. it's an obscure part of the Legacy of Gaming. ..is that enough, no, so thank the dark lord, it's Fun. I mean "Kung Fu Werewolf"....Do I need to go on.
