haha the guy said "this isn't a sequal to spore" there must've been a ton of confusion with the similiar names, cause even the game reps brought it up

Maxis Studio has just announced its next project, a brand new, sci-fi action role-playing game based on the DNA of Spore. Join key leads from the dev team, Thomas Vu, Paul Sottosanti, and Lauren McHugh, as they reveal Dark Spore for the very first time!

All I see is a Diablo 3 wanna`be with great character customization. It seems okay, but from what they`ve shown I wouldn`t buy it, especially considering what games the end of 2010 and beginning of 2011 will be released.

I found this from the Darkspore official site: Join the universe of Darkspore?, a fast-paced, sci-fi Action-RPG in which you battle across alien worlds to save the galaxy from the mutated forces of Darkspore. Fight in co-op and solo battles against hordes of Darkspore enemies and bosses. @Daian Darkspore is made by Maxis, which created Spore, and Darkspore is apparently what Maxis wanted Spore to be like...if you want more information, I don't really have it but that's what I heard :|
What is this, it has absolutely nothing to do with Spore except the name which they are probably using for marketing purposes. I'd rather they make a new Spore in which the final period (space) isn't dull, repetitive and frustrating. I enjoyed Spore a lot until i got to space age ,then i got bored really fast from running around space doing the same 3-4 types of missions over and over again.
I went from being interested by this game, then going lame when I heard that there was no creature creation, but after seeing the results from the new Iteration of the Creature Editor, I am excited to hear more about this! The fact that they brought in a lot of experienced RPG developers to help work on this makes me hopeful that this will be a good game
Can't make your own bodies? I'm not as interested as I was, hope there are a lot of different bodies............
