Darksiders was a game that I had been looking at for quite sometime. From the reviews I knew that I would never purchase the game at full-price, but I found it on sale for a nice price and purchased it. I was pleasantly surprised.

The best part about the game in my mind was the story. Now don't get me wrong, the story was not ground breaking or anything along those lines. It was just neat to see characters from different mythologies and religion-based stories mixing together. This also gave the game numerous avenues that I wish the developers would have taken, but I suppose that leaves the door open for a sequel.

The gameplay in darksiders was so-so, obviously not the best but not horrible. I felt that it was pretty standard fair for this type of action-adventure game. The purchasable 'moves' are fairly basic as well. There, of course, were a couple must have attacks that made up the majority of what the player needed to beat the game.

I am usually a fan of longer games, but I felt that this game was just a tad bit on the long side. While going through the game, especially in a few specific portions, it almost seemed like the developers were simply loading on the puzzles. Some of these became more tedious than enjoyable (weighted elevator puzzle, here's looking at you).

Overall, I enjoyed the game. It is a fairly easy 1000 gs, if you are into that. If a sequel comes out I will definitely be playing it in the future, but it wouldn't be a first-day-available purchase for me that's for sure.
