I've never given this game much thought. However, after watching this video review it kinda reminds me of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, which I loved all those years ago. Has anyone played both of these and would you recommend this game to someone who really enjoyed Soul Reaver?

Is there anything original about this game at all? It feel like stolen elements from all over the place....

@NicholasT33 Probably true, but atleast they combined all their stolen elements well. I'll prob check it out.

looks like a great game, too bad THQ laid off half of the development team a few months before it was completed. .....grumble grumble.... Remember, always praise the developers(vigil) for the games you love, not the money grubbers(THQ)

Like how Apple sues Samsung for things like Bounce Back on iOS, what would us gamers do if people starting patenting things like the PoP wall run?!!!???

even though the pc got .5 less its still a much better version because of 1. Higher res=less jaggies and blurry BS and 2. easy to achieve 60fps even on oldass rigs.

@silversix_ Watch this review, it goes into more detail on why the PC version is inferior.

@TerraMantis  @silversix_ Not too good of a job in judging the different versions. In the video of the link you posted, when the comparison between PC and ps3 the reviewer is describing a bug that supposedly is in the PC only version stating that it breaks the game. Well I just finished the game on PC and the bug that the reviewer was trying to show isn't actually a bug at all. He shows himself wallrunning into a portal that is suppose to shoot him out the other portal onto a wall but he falls short. He is suppose to HOLD down the trigger on the portal gun to charge up the portal before shooting it. Doing so allows for more velocity when teleporting through portals and shoots you further out the other end . Also he said the PC version falls short because of lack of PC only options..... well the console version doesnt have them either... so its not a one up on the console version. Like silversix_ said 1080p on pc compared to 720p (thats 1 million pixels compared to 2 million pixels, big difference) and PCs have no trouble in producing 60fps in this fast/hyper action/rpg game. Summoning 3 zombies and 3 flocks of birds at the same time while fighting 3-6 enemies all at the same time.... My bro has the ps3 version and you can barely tell whats happening on the screen when he summons all his summons on top of fighting enemies.

good game overall, but the shooting part was so unnecessary

Shooting during the "shooting" part is also unnecessary, you can do everything that is needed with your other weapons

I have this game for PC. It's fun. Platforming, puzzles, and fighting it's all fun. Storytelling is lacking, and there are no hi-res textures for PC. Shadows are ALLL blocky to the point you can't really tell what it's a shadow of. No 5.1 surround sound support and no hotswapping between gamepad and m&k. With that said the game is still fun.... I started my first play through on the hardest difficulty keeping the combat from getting stale over time. The higher the difficulty, the more you have to worry about HP, MP, use your dodge more accurately and more frequently, keeping you on your toes the whole time.. it really keeps you immersed in the game. Also on the higher difficulty the enemies use moves and strategies not seen on lower difficulties. I also find that "Possessed Weapons" are really fun to tweak around with and the ability to shape the main character into many different builds and fighting styles. I got it for PC and my brother got it for PS3... and on ps3 the resolution gets stuck at 720 and does NOT run even a constant 30fps. PC on the otherhand can be played at 1080 at 60fps locked... Making the animations in combat much easier to see what you are actually doing and when the enemy is winding up for an attack. I paid $50 to shopthq.com and received the game and all DLC including the season pass for free... my brother paid $60 and got the preorder dlc....without the season pass. With all that said, even though its a port and they showed no love to the PC gamer the game itself can't help but look and run tons better on PC. My brother, not being a pc gamer, is still enjoying the game on his ps3. Play the demo on OnLive... stream the demo to yourself for free and try it out. BTW I've experienced 2-3 crashes to desktop while playing but that was before the 8mb patch that was released already. No crashes since.

Sorry I have to correct myself. I said they showed no love to the PC gamer but I got the game and all future DLC for $50 total... That's a $80 value to a console gamer like my brother... So THQ/Vigil Games.... I apologize... I meant no love when it came to audio/video/control option tweaks.

I'll take his word that it's much better than the original. But that only makes me glad I never tried to the original, as this looks pretty boring to me. I liked Prince of Persia games, blending platforming, combat, puzzles, a story. This, on the other hand, looks watered down and... what's the opposite of intriguing?

@Simplythebest12 I dont know what youre talking about,im playing on PC with M+K and game is amazing.Didnt have a single problem with it.

I read your review and its,how to put this, horrible.

"Serious glitches found on the PC version: - The V key does not work if you want to transform to the Reaper form (i hope they fix it soon with a patch) - The player stucks in some stages if you take the wrong turn"

Never happend to me,clearly youre doing something wrong.

"The graphics are bad with low quality textures and cartoony animations and since their is no Antialliasing option the game is full with ugly jaggies. The game graphically remind me some old games from the 90's"  Graphics are great, whenever  i enter a new level i just stand still for couple of secs/mins to enjoy the view and the art style.

Rox-pox

@MrOnage I told people to skip the major spoiler and you call it whining? Do you know what that word means?

Also you would never reply me like that if it weren't for Kevin's moderator tag...so stop riding him.

Finally why the hell you gave 9.5 score to Mass Effect 3 and 6.5 to Super Meat Boy? Clearly you don't know what are good games.

MrOnage
MrOnage

 @Rox-pox

The Super Meat Boy score was accidentally. i have fixed it now, it is a great game just as Mass Effect 3. and also, i don't care about kevin's moderator tag. i replied to you and you clearly didn't get the message.

@Rox-pox It's the first 15 minutes of the game. How is that a major spoiler?

Rox-pox
Rox-pox

@Kevin-V That game will be released in 3 days in my country and I certainly didn't want to see the first minute before buying it.

I expected a review, not too many major spoilers this video showed through the game.

@Rox-pox This is a video review. If you are that sensitive to seeing things from the first ten minutes of a game, I would say that you should never watch videos of any game prior to release. Otherwise, almost anything you see would be a spoiler for you.
