A soup made out of many familiar ingredients. Yummy.

Finally after numerous delays Darksiders 2 is here. I was waiting for this game eagerly after being impressed by the first game. Now after waiting so long to play it I can't help but feel a little disappointed.

Expecting the worst it still managed to piss me off when i first launched the game. Once again no graphical options, slide for a better resolution and press for vertical sync. Come on guys, did you even bother? I don't think so. Prime example how developers don't give a s*** about pc gamers and how pc gamers shouldn't support their laziness. If you perchance want to sort your key binds then you will not be able to do that in options where you are supposed to, but will have go into your inventory, moves section, and there you will find your key binds. Seriously.

And aside all the silly bugs and technical issues ( Reaper form broken, works only after restart etc.) here you have a sequel that improves in almost every aspect compared to the original.

Starting from a bigger more open world that feels and looks amazing, props to the art designers of the game. Love it. Next they implemented a leveling system with 2 separate skill threes (didn't particularly like either of the threes but it's a step in the right direction) and with loot system it creates a very different feel then the original. Weapons and armor are numerous and coins drop from almost every crate/box you destroy, can't help but feel like I'm playing some hack and slash dungeon game. Great change.

There is a lot of main quests and as much side quests, plenty of them are very interesting and fun while others are there for collectors. It's a lenghty game, I finished it in about 22 hours and I haven't done everything. Crucible arena (fighting waves of enemies and getting some awesome loot has around 100 waves) will keep you occupied for a long period of time if you like that sort of thing. Exploring is fun, puzzles are less tedious then original and the game has a smooth pace. Combat feels better as well and you feel like a badass throughout the game.

It borrows a lot from various games just like the original but it does it very well so it's not a bad thing even tough i would like to see some more innovations in the next installments.

War vs Death? I think I prefer War.
Worth playing. Worth buying?
