Whether you've played Darksiders 1 or not, this game is well worth playing.

Let me just begin by saying that I have not played Darksiders I when I sat myself in front of my PC to play Darksiders II.

Darksiders II is a very fun game. I saw one or two trailer videos on the net and was really keen to play it. When it was released, I got my hands on it, started playing it and was instantly plunged into confusion as to what the story plot was. But a few minutes of background reading later, I was up to speed and much more excited to play.
In short, Darksiders II is amazing. The audio effects, music, visuals and gameplay are a ton of fun. I was disappointed because I got the release version without the update and had to suffer for a few days with a somewhat poorly ported version of the game. I especially loved the wide variety of enemies and the large swarms – it always presented an interesting challenge as to how I was going to inflict maximum damage along with maximum smash impact. The weapon attributes, as well as weapon classes and upgrades were also a nice feature of the game.
When manoeuvring the environment with Death, you cannot help but smile at how easy and enjoyable it is to move around with Death. The various puzzles do make it very very challenging at times, but you are always gifted the proper tools to complete puzzles, provided that you put your mind to it and not succumb to peeking at the walkthroughs on the net.

Darksiders II does however have a couple of failings. The developers' failure to perfect the port before releasing it on PC was a huge disappointment for me, and considering that the update was 3Gb big, I was not too impressed. Another problem I had was that there were simply too many puzzles in the game – a puzzle here and there is fine but this game had a bit too many of them. The last major problem I had was with the lack of a quick access tool for abilities. To have to use the numbers as well as hold onto the 'Tab' button whenever I wanted to do a particular ability was highly annoying.

Other than that, this is an bloody well done title and worth playing. And if you've 'clocked' the game once, you'll have just as much fun upping the difficulty and doing it all over again.
