A foggy dream...

I've always wondered if one single gun could change the outcome of a war. Darkest days gives you the feeling, at some specific moments, that it can be done. In a nutshell: this game is a great idea, the graphics are fair, the gameplay acceptable and your commander has a nice military sense of humour. The biggest downfall for this game is the abysmal artifical intelligence. Enemies usually run in circles, don't always attack and can even look in the wrog direction of the fight... akward moments also happen when masses meet. It's sad really because it really has nice moments where you are part of a large army fighting at a historical significant moment. I don't understand why people whine about the musket, but its true that they could of mixed up the time periods a little more than just the american civil war and WW1 (ex: Watterloo, Boer's Wars) Custer's last stand at the beginning is actually a nice touch. So there you have it, nice idea and some good moments, but it wears pretty thin quick because of the AI that encouters problems that I personnaly believed would not show up in this day and age of computer games.
