I like this lady, her review of Dark Souls: PTD Edition convinced me to buy it, and it's an awesome game. (I strongly recommend the DSfix mod to enable 60 fps!)

1 Like I think Steam should make mini keyboards/remotes for big picture that you can leave on your coffee table.
I'm confused, why use a controller to browse and message? Sure, Steam may be releasing a console but surely they're smart enough to do so with mouse and keyboard support.
when i starting mw3 my pad doesnt work, what can cause that failure. My keybord works perfectly fine, but on steam big picture everything suppose to work with game pad. Any tips will be helpfull.

@dusthead Carolyn is a guy who is a crossdresser, i was confused too when i first saw him so I had to google to find out. I think you are genuinely confused as I was but there are better ways to ask or find out.

1 Like Really interesting stuff from Steam but to work well in my life I'd need a dedicated PC to sit in the cabinet and always be connected to the TV...which kind of sounds like a console.
I think this could revolutionize pc gaming from the couch, carving a niche away from consoles. I am already playing games on a samsung 52" screen with my pc. Now if only devs would get on board with the console ports and fix those clunky controls. I'd be glad to toss my xbox.
1 Like I don't understand why there's a powered up PS3 there, I know steam is out on the PS3 too, but is it the system you are showing it on ?
I keep trying it but it keeps saying the same thing : "Steam Big Picture mode is not supported on your platform.". Not that I need it since you can already play PC games on your TV, this only adds an interface designed for gamepads, but I'm curious to see it work.
Big Picture works with Mouse and Keyboard, as well as a controller. The purpose, based on my reading on Steam of this Big Picture is to put Steam fully on T.V.'s.
I've not tried it yet, but I hate gaming on a couch, I don't feel like I am gaming. I've got a friend that can't game on the couch either because she falls asleep everytime! :)

gosh, it reminds me of Onlive. If Steam would to put in a Brag Video Feature and/or Spectator Mode I would jump all over this.

Funny how Valve just took the entire console department and revolutinized it with a single small steam update. I mean people buy consoles for the ease of use and the ability to play in large a TV, and its just what they did. Without the need for extra peripherals. Gabe showing how its done ;-)
2 Like Two things I take away from this- one, that texting interface just got everyone at Microsoft and Sony responsible for designing their text interface fired for not thinking of it first. Looks like once people get used to it they'll be able to enter text very quickly.
Two- that is not how you play Dark Souls. One does not simply walk into the Royal Gardens....
this is what i imagined the steam box would do is what OnLive did. It's awesome to see this kind of portability coming to our tv's and especially our consoles. Love it!
That's a clever new system they have there. And it would work well if they were to release a console to go with it... hmmm...
