- "Disappointing"
This was a game I wanted to play from the first time I saw previews for it, but I am not a console gamer. So when it came out on PC I was pretty happy. Over all I like the game, its really hard which I knew going in, it looks great, but the way the controls were ported makes it disappointing. Mouse and keyboard are pretty much worthless as all tutorials are only shown for a controller. The way the controller is set up is odd and you can't remap any of the keys so you're kind of stuck. I'll still play it and I will die just like everyone else, but a portion of those deaths will be because of the way the controls are laid out on the game pad.
The graphics look pretty amazing. Even on an older machine like mine I am able to turn everything way up and get some nice frame rates.
There is a little bit of a steeper learning curve for this game though and I did read some guides a bit before i started but once you understand most of the basics the rest isn't bad.
Overall its a good game. Not really a great one by any means. I don't really see why its getting the high ratings its getting though. The fact that it feels like a poor port of a console game just bothers me.

Immensely imaginative, intensely immersive, but irksome and inaccessible, Dark Souls is a bit like heroin.
