I am having frame rate issues mostly in boss battles?

Are you using the 3rd party mod to bypass the resolution limit? If so, turn off your Anti Aliasing setting INGAME. You can tune the .ini (configuration file within the mod) to optimize the game accordingly, but as far as logic goes, lower resolution gives smoother gameplay (at least to a certain extent).
The framerate drop have been there since the original PS3/ 360 version so it;s not something out of the ordinary.
