I dont remember who was talking about the Divine edition for ps earlier in the thread, but Death edition surfaced for the xbox and ps in Europe, so guess thats that for PS exclusive :-P

But not much extra for you bucks, getting the divine og death editions. except maybe for the Dead Space skin.

When you play the game, the dante seems so weak... yet so kick-ass with his weapons!

@Memnoch-7734 I agree completely! I mean there is no such thing as a original play format..Ever since I opened a chest wil link in Zelda I have seen the same kind of action in countless other games.. this has in no way influenced those games. like all first person shooters the thing you come back for is the story, action, graphics and so on.. who cares how you get health back. yep I am going to enjoy this game a lot I wish I had a ps3 for I would have played GOW as well

@POWERFULWALMART Oh, and by the way, you collect souls to upgrade yourself in DI, and you do the same thing in Darksiders. Also another similarity is that you go through hordes of evil creatures and bosses in a hellish, demonic environment. And yet another similar concept is the obtainment of Death's Scythe. However, you did not here any of us Darksiders fanboys bashing DI because of them did you? You complaining like that is like the International Nanny Association complaining about the 'Bad Nanny' achievement/trophy in DI. It just makes no sense, is pointless, and annoying. @phantom_blades66 Actually that's not true, I thought the same thing but it seems that different people worked on the games, unless I looked in the wrong places.

@POWERFULWALMART I'm going to reiterate the 'genre' comment, then say this: While it may be that controls and game play are remarkably similar, this does not mean you should not enjoy the game. Here's an example; did you play GOW 1, 2 or 3? If the answer is anything but a single one of them, then you basically played the same game twice or thrice, just with different abilities and a new plot line. Sound familiar? It should, because by the time I played GOW 3, it was for the story, not the game play (though that was fun, too). If you didn't enjoy the game, there no reason to be an a** about it, just don't buy it, but don't bash it either, and ruin the fun for others. The difference in the Greek Philosophy vs Italian Epic Poetry seems interesting enough to play through the game.

Jesus f'ing christ, if you dont like the game, dont by it. Enjoy GOW or what ever you want to play, and leave DI for the rest of us to enjoy :-P

You do know that people who worked on GOW trilogy also worked on Dante's Inferno right? I doubt the developers/designers or whatever their job might be will specifically change their working style just to make you happy. No one is forcing the game on you POWERFULWALMART, so why don't you just stop associating yourself with it if it makes you so upset for whatever reason.

@Memnoch-7734 okay maybe i didnt make myself clear.....yes they are both hack and slash ...but that does mean Dantes Inferno should copy GOW game play formatt ...here are some examples.....in GOW when katos gets to a new area a force field goes up and he has to clear the area to go on ...the same with Dantes Inferno(DI) ...thats just one...wait i got more ....also in GOW Katos has these chest that restore hes life,magic,etc...well in DI they have statutes that do the same thing ....in DI Dantes punchs the statute to open it .but...on both games it is done by tapping R2 ..... if i am going to buy a game i want it to be new and fun ...however while i was playing DI it felt like i was playing GOW katos in hell...

@phantom_blade66 You seem like a very sensible person that spoke my mind perfectly.
@POWERFULWALMART What do you mean they "borrowed the storyline from the old book"? The actual book, Dante's Inferno? Of course they did, otherwise it wouldn't be Dante's Inferno, it's be like....Into Hell, or something >_>. That, and of course the format is the same, but you aren't complaining about Need for Speed being the same as any other racing game, because it's the same format. It's called a genre

your right on that ...i will not be buying this game .....enjoy the buttom smashing....

  • phantom_blade66

    Posted Jan 4, 2010 2:33 pm GMT

How can you say it copied the format? Its the same genre of game of course there are similarities. I don't see you tearing your hair out because almost every single first person shooter has the same format. You don't like Dante's then don't buy it. But in my view, the more hack and slash games coming out...the better

Bloody, violent, great graphics and probably, an amazing story to go with it. The way games should be, at least for me anyway.
