We take our first steps into Hell to get an advance look at Dante's Inferno.
I dont remember who was talking about the Divine edition for ps earlier in the thread, but Death edition surfaced for the xbox and ps in Europe, so guess thats that for PS exclusive :-P But not much extra for you bucks, getting the divine og death editions. except maybe for the Dead Space skin.
@Memnoch-7734 I agree completely! I mean there is no such thing as a original play format..Ever since I opened a chest wil link in Zelda I have seen the same kind of action in countless other games.. this has in no way influenced those games. like all first person shooters the thing you come back for is the story, action, graphics and so on.. who cares how you get health back. yep I am going to enjoy this game a lot :D I wish I had a ps3 for I would have played GOW as well :)
@POWERFULWALMART Oh, and by the way, you collect souls to upgrade yourself in DI, and you do the same thing in Darksiders. Also another similarity is that you go through hordes of evil creatures and bosses in a hellish, demonic environment. And yet another similar concept is the obtainment of Death's Scythe. However, you did not here any of us Darksiders fanboys bashing DI because of them did you? You complaining like that is like the International Nanny Association complaining about the 'Bad Nanny' achievement/trophy in DI. It just makes no sense, is pointless, and annoying. [ref: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dante's_Inferno_(video_game)]
@phantom_blades66 Actually that's not true, I thought the same thing but it seems that different people worked on the games, unless I looked in the wrong places. @POWERFULWALMART I'm going to reiterate the 'genre' comment, then say this: While it may be that controls and game play are remarkably similar, this does not mean you should not enjoy the game. Here's an example; did you play GOW 1, 2 or 3? If the answer is anything but a single one of them, then you basically played the same game twice or thrice, just with different abilities and a new plot line. Sound familiar? It should, because by the time I played GOW 3, it was for the story, not the game play (though that was fun, too). If you didn't enjoy the game, there no reason to be an a** about it, just don't buy it, but don't bash it either, and ruin the fun for others. The difference in the Greek Philosophy vs Italian Epic Poetry seems interesting enough to play through the game.
Whatever no point in trying to prove something to el fuerte walmarte ! Finally a GOW-like game on 360 :)
Jesus f'ing christ, if you dont like the game, dont by it. Enjoy GOW or what ever you want to play, and leave DI for the rest of us to enjoy :-P
You do know that people who worked on GOW trilogy also worked on Dante's Inferno right? I doubt the developers/designers or whatever their job might be will specifically change their working style just to make you happy. No one is forcing the game on you POWERFULWALMART, so why don't you just stop associating yourself with it if it makes you so upset for whatever reason.
@Memnoch-7734 okay maybe i didnt make myself clear.....yes they are both hack and slash ...but that does mean Dantes Inferno should copy GOW game play formatt ...here are some examples.....in GOW when katos gets to a new area a force field goes up and he has to clear the area to go on ...the same with Dantes Inferno(DI) ...thats just one...wait i got more ....also in GOW Katos has these chest that restore hes life,magic,etc...well in DI they have statutes that do the same thing ....in DI Dantes punchs the statute to open it .but...on both games it is done by tapping R2 ..... if i am going to buy a game i want it to be new and fun ...however while i was playing DI it felt like i was playing GOW katos in hell...
@phantom_blade66 You seem like a very sensible person that spoke my mind perfectly. @POWERFULWALMART What do you mean they "borrowed the storyline from the old book"? The actual book, Dante's Inferno? Of course they did, otherwise it wouldn't be Dante's Inferno, it's be like....Into Hell, or something >_>. That, and of course the format is the same, but you aren't complaining about Need for Speed being the same as any other racing game, because it's the same format. It's called a genre
How can you say it copied the format? Its the same genre of game of course there are similarities. I don't see you tearing your hair out because almost every single first person shooter has the same format. You don't like Dante's then don't buy it. But in my view, the more hack and slash games coming out...the better
heres what i think ...i played the demo on my ps3 ,shorty after playing god of war collections ...and not only did they barrow the story from a old book ...but they pretty much copyed the god of war formatt!!!
90xGrad...you just spoke my thoughts exactly. Stop this pathetic comparing crap and just play the game(s) if you like them jeez. I'm picking up Darksiders tomorrow and already had Dante's AND GOW III reserved...people just need to relax
what's with all the god of war vs. dantes inferno garbage? can't everyone enjoy both? that's what i'll be doing and i suggest you guys do the same.
Bloody, violent, great graphics and probably, an amazing story to go with it. The way games should be, at least for me anyway.
i played the demo i dident like the graphics terible everything is terrible in that game reminds me of psp 300 spartans
I played DI demo few days a go and also bayonetta yesterday and i have to say all hype around DI and GOW 3 is bulls.... !!! bayonetta kick a.. both of those replicants.
ur rite viletom, bayonetta looks so like dmc, btw DIs gonna b 1 hell f a game bt GOW3s graphics excell DI, may b by a slight range bt they do, so i,d rate DI a 9.2 and GOW3 a 9.5 in a fair comparision bt since am a huge fan f d GOW series i,d give it a ten.
Bayoneta looks nothing like god of war, and why isn't DMC being mentioned at all for the action slash series, I say Bayoneta looks more like DMC. Cuz of all the shooting and what not.
played the demo - this game is just so xbox 360 owners get to know what it's like playing god of war... nuff said!
for any1 who thinks that GOW3's graphic is inferior to DI, here's something you should know. Best Graphics, Technical award went to Uncharted 2. GOW3's graphic is as good or even better than U2's. The new gameplay footage will be released in january. Give me a thumb down if you like, im speaking purely based on statistic.
yo idk95 are you drunk or something Dante's inferno is 10x better then gow i have both demos and Dante's inferno is 10x better then gow end of story
looks pretty wicked.. not really into the hack in slashers but just from this demo im gonna play this one . Dont understand why the GoW fanboys aint complaining more bout DI copying Infamous as well. Who cares if a game takes a little from one and a little from another. We wouldnt have so many good games to play so quick if they didnt. Lets see how long as the ps3 been out and JUST now GoW 3 coming out ..... Fanboys replug the ps2 , have fun with the older GoWs, and stay off the boards
Looks great so far. But the sensors will skin this game down to the bones and make it loose the unique nightmare that hell should be, "HELL".
Jesus_freak god of war 3 looks way better im not just saying this because i like god of war better but dante is like a 7.5 and gow it like a 9.5 if not a ten and i played dantes inferno on a much better tv and swear god of war look better. dante's inferno looks like devil may cry but theres nothing wrong with that but gow looks way better
@ ---> "Jesus_freak" what type of television are you playing on ? GOW 3 demo looks way better than Dante's Inferno on my setup, gameplay is similar yes, but that is where the similarity ends. my setup: console: PS3 Televison: 52" Sony Bravia running in theater mode with TrueMotion set on High. believe it or not, the television plays a big role on how good the game looks.
2 idk95.."They're Blinded by the Hype" buncha "overnight FanBhitchez" that's why. Funny about all that is...The Level Designer who's currently staffed on Dante's Inferno WORKED on the God Of War Saga. Hence the similarities in gameplay. Bottom lime we all know all the "haters" are gona end up buying it in the end. LOL.
what is with erry1 tryin 2 hate on gow now it was and still is the greatest fightin game and then this game comes out of nowhere and people want 2 say itz better than gow like this always happens to good games everyone else who liked it now want something 2 come outta nowhere and be better
Alright, I've played both the Dante's Inferno demo and the GOW3 demo and I've gotta say they are VERY similar in gameplay. The graphics are a little bit better on the Dante's Inferno demo, but who cares? Both games will be incredible and really it's how the story and gameplay unfolds which makes the game, not the graphics. Both were great demos and both will surely be great games.
