The concept is violent,yet touching in a way.Someone willing to go to HELL!!! for the one they love.(WOW that's DEEP)

I just don't know about this game. The concept is interesting, and the game itself should look great, but I am afraid that in the end it will be reduced to yet another standard hack-and-slash game. Big departure from the original story aside (if I remember right, Dante was a poet, not a warrior), there is hope for this game.

I've played both the god of war games, there creepy, violent, and disturbing, but not like this. great looking game though.

The thing i hate about gamespot is the outrageous stupid annoying commercials. ESPECIALLY that axe commercials.

i dunno. GOW was pretty good considering its never been on a next-gen console. Just the PS 2 and PSP.

This has way better art design than god of war, and just as brutal. Great story great concept, automatic 9 and above.

The first circle is already over the top wicked, but the fact that you know that it will only get more gory, more crazy, more scary and more brutal with each new circle... that is what makes this game so radical and definitely worth buying. This will be something we have never seen before in a game, and we will talk about this for many, many years to come. Oh my f*cking Lucifer, I cant wait for this game.

Sorry, I didn't watch the video until I posted my post, below. Yeah, he said that it was in the beggining of the 1300s. He didn't say what century, so, lukaszsw, your post doesn't seem to make sense? As he didn't say anything about centuries, why say that it's not the 13th century, but the 14th?

@ lukaszsw - The person who srote that it was the 13th century is probably from Europe (so am I). I take it that you are American since you're saying that it's the 14th century, well, over here (most of the parts over here, at least) the 13th century is 1300-1399. And then comes the 14th. Just a common mistake and misunderstanding.

I wonder what the second circle will look like?

"Divine Comedy was written in the early parts of thirteen hundreds..." 1308 - 1321 A.D. is the 14th century, just like 5 - 50 A.D is the 1st century not the 0. Guy should go back to school.

this whole concept is crazy i thought the same thing when i read the book that it looked like a video game. this is going to be more than a video game i cant even imagine how they are going to make Lucipher look. You might have to take your eyes off of him for a second

When I go to hell in IRL, I want to be a massive demon who breaths fire. That would be so epic.

This game looks like Silent Hill mixed with God of War, which is a good thing in every respect.

I don't care if this is coming out at the same month, day or hour as God of War 3. I'll buy both of them and have hours and hours of fun. Both games will be epic in their own way.

The comparison with GoW is inevitable. GoW is already a consolidated series with a great value. Now this, looks amazing with an artwork which is very sick and disturbed. I'm excited for this.

I love the GOW series. I am not crazy about GOW3, I really feel like the gameplay in that series is becoming stagnant...but this is the first time I've seen an action game that rivals (and likely will surpass) GOW's art direction.
