Very short, mostly hard, horrible graphics, but very fun.

I bought this hoping it would measure up to the book. That it would be fun, addicting, enjoyable, whatever you want to call it. I was kind of let down. You start the game having to beat the supposed toughest-alien. So you attempt to defeat him, and THEN it tells you the instructions on how to jump. The game wasn't very good at helping you learn how to play it.
There is also too much dialogue. They basically take up a random conversation that has nothing to do with the game and they expect you to want to read it.
The makers of Daniel X: The Ultimate Power don't have the greatest sense of humor, either. It is very dry, and the comebacks are weak enough to take away some of the fun, in my opinion.
It is also too short. I had played for 5 minutes before turning it off, and the next time I played, I was 4% through it. After you explore the ship and kill all the bad aliens, you're done. That's it.
On the good side, it has a fair way to gain strength. As you kill aliens called Exers (man, I just want to say "Exercisers" every time I see that word :P) you obtain red and blue orbs. The red ones increase your health, and the blue you save and can use to buy powers at every save point, ultimately leading to the Ultimate Power.
The attacks you can use are also fun. You can run up a wall, (also good for reaching high places you can't normally get to)bounce off of it doing a flip, and kick an alien where it hurts, as well as different forms of telekinesis.
The best thing is the alien scanner. (For the DSi only.)You take a picture, center the eyes, and then you have a picture of an alien that is supposed to be what your friend is in disguise as well as it's home planet, summary, and intergalactic crimes. I've had a lot of fun making fun of my friends with it.
So I didn't like this game much, but it supplied me a week of mild entertainment. Even if it wasn't the best game in the world, it was definately worth the money, being only 15$ at most stores.
