The DDR series has evolved from cult classic to big boom of popularity. By now, if you dont know what DDR is, then you have been living under a rock.

Gameplay is basically the same as it always has been with the exception of new modes to play around with. I must say, this mix is very beginner friendly. When you pop in the game, it asks you right away if you want to jump into a tutorial to teach you the basics. Also new is Power Mode, a mode in which you play a mix of different songs combined into one, Relay Mode, each player plays different parts of a selected song, and the Quest mode is slightly different..and when I say different I mean hella better. In quest mode you gain fan base and challenge rival DDR characters. You earn songs and background videos that will help you gain more fanbase in future challenges. The Graphics serves great eye candy. The characters look the best they have ever been, and their animations are more slick and smooth. A selection from Charmy, Astro, Akira, and Yuni..are among the DDR All star cast . And then there are the background videos that play behind the characters. They seem to be just random..well..stuff..very bright too, I found my eyebrows twitching while playing a certain selection of songs. Definitely not for anyone who has problems with seizures..I never had one in my life but I still felt sick before I had to tone down the brightness in graphics options. A few songs have music videos that play instead of characters and the standard background videos. The music is the main concern in music games such as DDR. The Ultramix series is best known for have a very diverse selection. This mix is no exception. The list spans from hits by Prodigy, The Jungle Bros. , Geri Hallowel (sp?)(a.k.a. Ginger Spice) , also classic DDR hits such as Dont Stop, Get Up(before the night is over), and so on. In my opinion, this is the best Ultramix song list. But, everyone has different taste. In conclusion, if you are a DDR freak, you should eat this up..and know what to expect. If you are a beginner, this should be a great start for you as well. Once again, I believe in my opinion..the best ultramix..10 bucks less than DDR games are usually priced..is a win/win situation.
