At first glance, DDR Ultramix 3 seems like any other DDR game released in store, but really, it's basically is.

When I dropped by Target to purchase this game I should have put a little more thought into it, it was 60 bucks with the pad included, I was about to quite my part time job, and my room wasn’t really in the right state of cleanliness to play this game. But I didn’t, and I ended up buying the game. It took me literally 5 hours to clean and reorganize my room just so I could begin this game, as for the game play it took me a good 3 hours to master Standard mode, it’s not as challenging as previous DDRs but I did enjoy the soundtrack I little bit more, and plus they had old songs from older version on there such as Break Down. I did enjoy the Training Mode I must say, but at the same time, I felt like I was cheating with this helpful handy cap. The Workout Mode is though quite impressive, the amount of calories burned while playing this game is a shocker and I am surprised to see a small six-pack slowly developing on my belly. The DJ voice is still to this point annoying and at times because of the notorious backdrop color sequence it makes seeing the upcoming arrows hard to spot at times, I would not recommend the default dance pad that comes with the game if you plan to proceed onto Heavy Mode, because of the lack of stability the pad provides, you won’t get too far. Freestyle is a new game opinion to me, I have never seen this Mode before and it too was enjoyable. All in all, DDR Ultramix 3 wasn’t too bad but it wasn’t what I expected from Konami.
