Better than I expected

User Rating: 8 | Dance Dance Revolution SuperNOVA (Bundle) PS2
Positive
- Lots of good songs and unlockables
- Stellar master mode is long enough
- Good graphics and sounds

Negative
- It's more of the same
- More songs wouldn't have hurt
- Can't pause when playing a song

This is the first Dance Dance Revolution game I've played yet. It brings the same great gameplay from the previous games, and some good songs make this worth buying. DDR started from 1999 or 2000. For those you don't know, DDR is a dancing game that can be enjoyed by everyone, of any age.

Plenty of mode can be found. There is the Stellar Master mode, which is like a career mode. You complete trials, and then you compete for a VIP card. You must complete 3 out of 4 drills or 4 out of 5 drills. This can be done in multiplayer. Another mode is the Workout Mode where you can choose 3 songs, one after the other, like a battle mode. This can also be done in multiplayer. For multiplayer I prefer this since you can see which one is better. There is also a shop, which its item come when you progress in the stellar master mode. There are 4 types of difficulties. The beginner mode, basic, expert and another one. Option mode lets you choose a dancer of your own, stage, whether there are jumps, and other interesting options. Beginner mode is easy, not much arrows appear. For beginners, expert mode is a nightmare, since arrows don't stop coming, from every direction.

Song list is good. Most of the songs are excellent but could have had more and better songs. Songs you will find in Dance Dance Revolution SuperNova are 'Centerfold' by Captain Jack', 'Funkytown', 'Come Clean' by NM, 'Dance Dance' by Fall Out Boy and many others. Graphics and sounds are great. There aren't frame rate problems or glitches. Well I haven't found any yet.

Dance Dance Revolution SuperNova was the first game in the series that I've played and I'm found it very good. It's friendly to beginners, and there are many modes to keep you busy. Even if it's more of the same, this series is good. If you don't care of the similarity from the previous installments and the not so long song list, then Dance Dance Revolution SuperNova will be great fun.
