DDR is one of those games that suck you in so that you'll never want to let go.

My thoughts:

The first time I saw DDR it was at an arcade. There was a large group of people watching this one guy dance his brains out. I thought to myself "Man! That looks hard... I want to try." But I didn't because my feet and I are very uncoordinated together. When I heard that it hit consoles I wanted to try it. My friend had a copy of DDR extreme and I got hooked instantly, even though I wasn't too good. When we finally got our PS2 I immediately went out to buy my own copy. I was finally able to satisfy the craving. I have more recently gotten much better and can do most of the light difficulty with ease and a few standard. I'm still not to great though compared to the greatest. I can't wait till DDR superNOVA comes out!

Game play:

The game play is highly addictive partly because of the dance/remix music (which I can't get enough of). This game is fun to play and even fun to watch others play. The game is also fun for everyone in the family. The difficult ramps up nicely having multiple difficulty levels ranging from the beginners to those who live and breath DDR. There are a wide variety of songs and characters to choose from and many game play modes to satisfy everyone. There is even a workout mode that keeps track of your burned calories. There are tons of unlockables and much replay value to be had.

Visual:

There isn't much to say about the graphics in this game because the game isn't about graphics. The characters, although a little on the blocky side, are well animated and the background effects and music videos are well put together too and do not distract the player too much in watching the arrows, and if they are too distracting there is the option to shut them off.

Audio:

The music is what this game is all about. The list includes many genres but most are pop/dance music. What is there to say? It's well done. This game REQUIRED the music to be well put together.

Conclusion:

I can't get enough of it and I highly recommend that if you like rhythm games get at least one DDR in your collection if you don't have one already.
