Custom Robo, for the Gamecube is a game that can be fun at times, but overall is a pretty repetitive and unintuitive game. This game takes place in a far future where people use robos that fight each other in cyberspace. There is allot more to it but it dosen't really matter. You play as a boy (no name) who joins a bounty hunter group known as the Steel Hearts and fight crime. Thats about it for the story, it has a few twists but it still isn't that great. Storyline aside, the gameplay. custom robo has a top down view where you control your robo and shoot at the enemy robo with different guns, bombs, etc. and its pretty fun... for about 20 minutes and then it becomes a repetitive bore of run, jump, and shoot. Thankfully the game offers tons of maps to play on and plenty of customizations for your robo so you can some fun with that. There is also an unlockable first-person mode but it's more awkward than fun. To add to that, the story mode is so linear and short it barely provides any fun. Although the multiplayer mode provides a good amount of fun with 2v2, battle royal, and tag team mode but to unlock the weapons and maps you can use in multiplayer mode, you first have to play the boring story mode and collect them. Custom Robo had some great potential but couldn't quite make good use of it. Overall, if you like robos and customizing them there are better games out there you can play, but it can be some fun so if you want to play it I personally suggest renting it.
