Fun for a few minutes, but then gets boring.

User Rating: 6 | Curious George GBA
The GBA version of Curious George is a plaformer game based on the movie. You play as George and run through various levels in the jungle, city, and other environments. Levels are quite simple and short, and hold the same goal: to run to the end of each level. A few levels have different goals, like racing Ted(the man in the yellow hat) to the end of a level. Controls are simple: move with the D-pad, and hold down B while moving to run. Press A to jump, and R to pop items and get fireflies. Pressing L will show you how many fireflies you've collected, your health, and the number of lives you have left. Collecting fifty fireflies gives you another life. Otherwise, fireflies don't have much use. The game is actually quite fun for a while, but since it's too short, and the levels get repetitious, the game ends quickly. A few elements add some lasting appeal, but not much. One element is that once you complete a level, you can play the level again, but in a time trial. Also, every four levels you complete(time trial included), you unlock a mini game. The first mini game has you blow bubbles to catch fireflies(there is a time limit). Another mini game has you fly on a balloon and roam through the air, but don't crash into anything! The third mini game has you fly in a rocket, and avoid crashing into meteors and other obstacles. The fourth mini game has you run through a mountain and race to the top. These mini games get old quick, though. The game can be beat in about an hour or two.

The Good: Fun, colorful graphics* Might appeal to young audiences* Simple controls* Some levels are fun.

The Bad: Easy to beat* Mini games and levels get old soon* You'll need to remember lengthy codes in order to return to your current location for the next time you play* Weird jazz/techno music.

As you can see, Curious George for the GBA is fun at first, with charming graphics, but will not last most gamers for only an hour or so.
