I remember playing Crystal Quest on my old Mac LC in a time when the coolest game extant was "Spectre", and even then I really felt this game was "OK". It had many of the addictive qualities that so many pure 25cent arcade style games do, but playing it on the xbox360 is a bit like playing Doom on an NSA mainframe. If this game were published by Popcap or the like, I would be less critical, and frankly it would make more sense.
The game itself is incredibly basic; collect crystals, and dodge bad guys, hit the warp when it appears. Anyone who has played it will NEVER forget the "bleb!" sound made by the pink masses of... pink... that come in later levels. I realize that Microsoft needs to justify the new console, but I think that I'd rather wait for the REAL games before investing in the arcade downloading. This is an impulse by to pass on.
