I think this came out way to late. If this was 05' or 07' it may of been somthing serious to think about but why would people change there investment to somthing that isn't secure enough to prove long lasting? It sounds like there just dating off everyone elses technology.

@wiidominance, that's good points, but I believe it will be a big gamble for them without discount in prices or offline version or some monthly package (for example pay $20/40/60/70..etc to play XX games..etc) but I wish them big success for the technology itself. I like the main idea, but I don't plan to participate for now.

will the service run for international users, or is it restricted for US & Canada users as many are?

i cant understand how it will be working. Look: to run a super high graphics games they must still have powerful computers, maybe they have special super computers that can run 10 applications at the time, But what if 10000 people will decide to play at one moment, they must have hundreds of powerful server computers to establish all this

Good to see this is actually happening, i was getting worried that this was going to die before it materialized. The only real caveat to this system is the horrid bandwidth caps the ISPs are putting in, if i'm streaming at 5mbit/s constantly while playing my monthly quota is going to be gone in days.

Is it just me that noticed that the controller the guy in the background was holding looked just like the Xbox 360' s controller. Can you say lawsuit

wait, so this is not going to be available outside of the US? I mean, I live in Singapore and have an internet connection at like 10-15 MBPS (around there) and will be upgrading to 1GBps sometime next year. But, it doesn't matter much when you try to connect to someone who's server is in London, or Chicago etc. I look forward to this system as a forerunner of cloud gaming. But, I guess now it will only be out for Americans hm?

Let me highlight an issue for most people as I have been in the beta. Onlive requires that you download at 500-750 KB/s constantly including the menu and when you pause so if you leave to go do something while it is paused you have just downloaded a GB or 2 of video just for the pause screen. This is really only bad because most people have bandwidth caps, like with comcast you only get 250GB in a month total so that is gonna run out pretty fast. yes it is amazing, but unfortunately the sad truth is many people are going to either be charged or disconnected from their internet provider because they were unaware of this.

this looks cool but people will doubt what it can do and they probably should have thought about exclusive games.

My only fear is that people won't use this amazing service. I would love to never have to upgrade my computer unless if I wanted to. But the way people are connected with their terrible consoles they might not give it a chance. Microsoft needs some competition because Sony isn't really giving it to them yet...

All I need is Flight Simulator X and ARMA 2..... Oh and for it to come out in England :L

Seems like it is not bad but kinda out of a lot of peoples price range each month.

OnLive will be in full shape and power in 2011-2012 so I'm not really buying it, it seems to complicated and everything on internet which is risky.

@gamerpipe : good points made about burning games to Dvds and what not, however, nothing stopping Onlive doing the same to avoid a massive lawsuit, its not technically challenging, I mean they're doing the impossible here. Regarding your point, you have good pc hardware, then you're not the prime audience for Onlive, the other 95% of broadband users who have limited hardware are the prime audience. For me, as mentioned, I love the instantaneous of playing a game with one click, seriously thats awesome, am not bothered about being online to play as I'm always online. and I've got a console to cover me if I seriously craved for games while my net is being fixed ..etc. One issue tho, resolution, playing crysis from 1920x1200 to 1280x720 is quite a drop, but then again, there are other games that don't necessarily require high res to be enjoyed mostly like puzzle games ..etc and they'll be cheaper on onlive, so I wouldn't mind paying 15 dollars to for the ease .... so I guess its a mix and match between amazon/steam/ and Onlive. depending on the priority of ease/cheapness/high res All in All, I am mostly worried about lag, everything else is trivial. PEACE^^

@wiidominance, no it is not the same as if steam or metaboli go under. when you download from steam or metaboli you still getting the software and running it on your PC, if steam for any reason goes under, they ll probably warn users and let them download it, metaboli allows burning to dvd as far as I know, I just bought one game from them and they said they allow to burn it to dvd. so I won't be affected if they go down. even if steam didn't do anything, hackers would probably help, you ll lose only if you didn't download your games before they go under. all that not possible with onlive , unless they start to offer you a download version suddenly, I doubt it. that being said, onlive has a good potential, but it might goes under like many on-demand sites if game manufacturers insisted on their high prices. simply why would I buy air of a game, and have to be online all the time, when I can buy the game in a cover itself for the same price, and I can play it offline and anytime, especially I have console and good hardware on my pc? need extra motivation.

I don't understand why everyone is bashing this, it has some real potential if you ask me. I for one am sick of all the fanboys around here, if you don't like OnLive, don't watch the updates and don't buy the console...end of story.

There is no need for this. Unless you're a Mac only geek. Macs can run Windows now! 1. Graphics not a good as PC games 2. Doesn't do anything for simplifying PC game creation 3. There are no OnLive guarentees and media asset ownership 4. Forget Wifi ANYTHING It will be interesting to see if there is a lawsuit against publishers who provide OnLive DRM free gaming software.

Not gonna knock this service till its out theres alot of plot flaws with it but, i have a bit of hope for it

regarding them disappearing if they go down under: how the heck is Onlive any different than Steam or metaboli or direct2drive ? they'll disappear with your games if they go down under... I don't think its a good enough reason to shoot down the service. What is a good reason however, is laaag, they screw up there and they're officially doomed.

i have what would be considered a pimped out pc for at least few months from now, and guess what ?, am super interested in this service, I absolutely love the fact that you just click on a game and you play it ! no downloads, no patching, no NOTHING, i think a lot of people are missing on that point. Of course, the main issue here is latency, we all have a range of tolerance for latency cause we all pretty much play online games, so really the success of Onlive lies on the number of gamers who would tolerate its max latency. When you gona bring this tech to the bloody UK ??????

@ GrimReaper84_au You be paying to have access to play a game but u won't buy the game. Have fun playing when Onlive is down or you get tired of it or they go bust. Have fun with that.

And what does this have to do with Crysis 2?? As usual we cant trust the notification mails from GameSpot. At the moment I'm wondering why I'm not canceling that service, since it's not that much of a service since it's not working at all.

Because A: You pay less then retail for your games, and B: you can play the latest games at max graphics on machines that would never be able to handle them normally.
