Crysis Video Review 1

One of the greatest games this gen, Just like Half Life 2, Crysis revolutionized PC Gaming.

Too hyped.takes the fun of playing away..

A 2007 game that looks better and has more sophisticated physics and lens flares than 99% of all games in the world near the end of 2012. What's happening with the gaming industry nowadays? Just fired up Sleeping Dogs and it looks like garbage in comparison and runs like crap too! This game was criticized for being very heavy on GPU hardware but looking in hindsight it was a masterpiece of graphical design, head and shoulders better than anything else until Metro 2033 came out, and compared to today's games that run like garbage on a $500 GTX680 when maxed out (Dirt Showdown, Sleeping Dogs), this actually runs well and doesn't need 60 fps to feel smooth :). I hope Crytek puts a lot of effort into Crysis 3 and shows us what it's capable of. Crysis 2 was a step back in many ways from Crysis 1's sandbox gameplay mechanics and amazing graphics even by today's standards. 

I remember when this game first came out, the best GPU at that time was the 8800Ultra which was around 600-800 USD XD.. and even that card couldn't run it well on full graphics...

I've never played Crysis before and it looks fantastic. I want to play this before Crysis 2 but I'm not really a pc gamer. I know it's probably better on pc because thats its original platform, but is it good on the 360?

4 years later and still the best graphics out there. Incredible. A game far ahead of its time.

Crysis is the best in the series yet... Better than crysis warhead or crysis 2....

This game is awesome! I love it and the graphics still out-shine some pretty high budget modern shooters. The only thing that sucks is that there isn't much alien combat =(

Indeed, 4 years on, and this game still looks awe-inspiring! That by itself is just mind-boggling. It's such a shame that the storytelling is so, very bad. I was actually shocked to find out that the second half of this game has a certain element of reminiscence with some of Mass Effect 2's scenarios and environments, and that THIS game, while it's much older, looks much better than Mass Effect 2 AND in bigger environments! It's just unbelievable. However, Mass Effect 2 storytelling and voice acting completely shatters Crysis 1, while Crysis 1 shatters Mass Effect 2 in terms of technology and superb graphics quality, especially considering how much older Crysis 1 is compared to Mass Effect 2!

@Codester_41 It's not sandbox like you're thinking. The game is separated by levels and each level is a huge wide open space. What he means by sandbox is that you can walk around this wide open area anywhere you want for the only purpose as to go into an enemy area to complete an objective the way you want to. There aren't any side quests or anything like that. Other than being in a big open area the game is fairly linear.

Umm, when he says it's Sandbox based "levels" Does that mean I can just not care about the freaking missions and just walk around the island looking for whatever I was and destroying whoever I want?

Cant wait to get this on my xbox when its released later this year

@MetalMan300 Get a life.. Why do you come to a review for a 2007 pc game to talk about ps3 exclusives and compare the crysis 2 ps3 version to the 360's is beyond all of us.

And they said crysis 1 looked better than killzone 2 when it 1st came out. People were clearly mistaken. I don't get pc gamers you say the consoles are a couple years behind pc graphics but a couple years ago i didn't see the pc's putting up games that look like what the consoles have today. The pc does have better graphics but not to the point that most pc gamers would argue.

It's true when he says this game was revolutionary, but not when he said it set an example for all the come because Modern Warfare came out and everybody became satisfied with a linear 4 hour campaign. This is a true FPS.

This game is sooooooooo much better than Crysis 2,they almost cant even be compared.Crysis 2 offers no real freedom or beautiful enviroments.It completely dumbed down and "consolised".

Honestly, this game looks way more fun than the second. I bought it on PS3, the framerate sucks, the multiplayer is a CoD ripoff, and I hear that this game is more sandboxy. They had to DUMB IT DOWN for consoles, certainly graphix-wise and obviously in the multiplayer.

hey u guys cammon its just a game who cares if 360 is better or ps3 is better jst enjoy n play it n hell ps3 n 360 r the equal n even the pc is equal but jst think of it as more broot force den the consoles i m just saying no arguments

@MetalMan300 Umm, I have the ps3 version of crysis 2 and it isn't a glitchy mess. In fact, comparably it looks exactly the same as the 360 version (I've seen that one as well). I'm not even a fan boy, but your statement is so negative yet I doubt you have even touched a ps3.

Just got Crysis 2 for 360 and I love it! Now I really want Crysis on Steam. I'm just not sure my PC could handle it. It's a new Windows 7 laptop, but the graphics card isn't top of the line.

@anothereviewer Considering that IGN recently called Crysis 2 on 360 the best looking console videogame of all time, and comparatively called the PS3 version a jaggy, glitchy mess, I wouldn't take that comment to heart. It may be because games are harder to develop for on PS3, but it's a FACT that multiplatform games ALWAYS look better on 360. PS3 is a joke, fans always tout their amazing shooters as Killzone (which is only popular because it looks good when the gameplay is just okay... Crysis 2 on 360 makes it pointless) and Resistance, which is just an average shooter with average graphics and dull multiplayer. Suck it up.

@koolrok uh no its also being added to the ps3 lol honestly why would they make crysis exclusive to the 360 and pc when we all know the pc owns and ps3 rapes 360 in the butthole and yes i am a ps3 fanboy but at least im not fooling myself into thinking that 360 is even close the technical power of a ps3 and the convinience of a ps3

@Koolrok Wow Koolrok, I'm so jealous of that Crisis 2 is a 360, PC exclusive...oh wait no it's not I guess my PS3 can grace the series with it's presence... But in all seriousness I'm glad that the series is coming to all platforms...even the 360 :)

@koolrok Get your facts right fanboy. Crysis 2 is the first game in the series to go to consoles. Crysis and Warhead were exclusive to PC.

@elmoro47 It never came out on the ps3...Crysis 2 is coming out on the ps3 and should be good on the ps3 (of course not as good as a high end pc), but you'll have to wait a couple more weeks for it to come out and be reviewed before knowing for sure.

can someone tell me whether this game [crysis 2] will be good on PS3 as i dont have a great pc :(

Cry Engine 3 can't run Crysis 2 as well as Cry Engine 2 ran Crysis in Medium settings...

Really fantastic game. excellent yet challenging mechanics with great AI. Thrilling story to put it all together
