Crysis is the best FPS i've ever played in my life, there, I said it. While the FPS genre is overflowing with titles, some good, some bad. A very rare few are actually trying to take it to the next level, Crytek didn't take it to the next level, they demolished it. If you want to see the future of FPS, this is it. Everything in Crysis is free, you're free to play in any manner you wish, at any pace you wish. The game never grabs you by the arm and says "Nope, you can't do that.", battles are approachable in any manner you see fit. Want to go in guns blazing? Fire away. Prefer sticking to the shadows? Cloak yourself and creep past all your enemies without them even knowing you were there. Or my personal favorite, playing like a predator, hiding in the jungle until the perfect moment to kill an enemy and disappearing into if before anyone even knows what happened.

Outside of Crysis's gameplay, there's the graphics, keep in mind this game was released in 2007 and people STILL struggle to run it at max settings. The CryEngine 2 is astonishing, it is the most amazing engine on the planet. When this game was released there wasn't a PC game on earth that was even worth mentioning in the same breath of Crysis's graphics. And for today? It still looks stunning, I don't know what black magic Crytek used to create such a powerful engine, but it is a sight to behold. Crysis is an instant classic and the finest FPS on the planet.
