Bargain Bin Value

User Rating: 7 | Crysis 3 PS3

The Good:

  • Visuals. Awesome.
  • Variety of Weapons and ammo, especially the bow. All except 1 or 2 work great and deal accurately described damage.
  • tagging/tracking of enemies was cool.
  • hacking of alien turrets, bomb fields, creatures.
  • voice acting was top notch

The Bad:

  • The switching between weapons (Finally figured it out) was cumbersome and confusing to me
  • The inability to easily see which weapon does what in terms of accuracy, range, damage, etc. Only way to do so is to put your visor down, hover over the prospective weapon and squint to read the small read out description. Some comparison tool like that used in Borderlands 2 would have be big.
  • The "hub" where you can upgrade your nano suit with different bonuses makes ZERO sense to me. When you unlock/upgrade the bonuses, you can preset up to 3 combinations of 4 upgrades. I still have no idea how these are applied into the game.
  • The uncanny ability of enemies who can see you a mile a way when you come out of cover.
  • The vehicles are hard to control and could have easily been omitted from the game.

I haven't played the first 2 in the series so some of the dialogue was lost on me. This being said, the story is not bad.

I don't plan on playing the MP as I'm more about campaigns.

.Bottom Line:

Finished the game on 2nd hardest setting (out of 4) on the PS3. I would say that 7- 7.5 is about right. I bought it used for $15.00 and it has been well worth it at that amount.
