The graphics in crysis 2 beta didn't change to the final. The final is right around the corner. This is how graphics for crysis 1 and 2 looked. Blurry and bad framerate compared to PC. The ps3 is aging hardware, guys.

That being said I played it on my laptop which outperforms the current gen consoles and it looked much better but still choppy...I think you need a monster pc to play this well.

Looks good to me so far. As long as that damn static glitch from part 2 is gone, I expect to be satisfied.

Multiplayer modes always suffer graphically compared to single player as well. Crysis 2 is still the best looking console game, I'm sure this one will look fairly similar

    ^
This. Just make a new Timesplitters since every other multiplayer FPS to come out in the last 2 years has sucked anyways. Let's bring back a classic series.

Honestly the game looks pretty good to me. Not perfect as there are some really terrible textures here and there but overall the visuals do the job.

I do hope they fix the pop in and visual loading though. At times certain things like trees or the grass just wouldn't load properly resulting in an entirely open level with only the geometry and players showing. Same with some of the guns and their respective textures. They don't show properly. Also the delay in animations on both your player and the enemies is detrimental to the gameplay.

Fix that and I can deal with the average visuals. While they may not be cutting edge, the design of the levels so far are pretty good and the overall visual design (overgrown New York) is well executed. It is convincing enough even without a lot of the lighting and massive shading that the PC version executes so well.

Multiplayer modes graphic didn't take a hit for Uncharted, Killzone or Resistence just to name a few.
Crysis 2 although decent looking its no where near the best console looking game.

^ I replied to that in a different post, plus you named 3 ps3 exclusives, that system is clearly far more powerful than the 360, that's not news to anyone.

People on this board have no conceptual understanding of what good graphics really are.

Check out the Crysis 3 tech demos, that show off the visual fedility, and quality, and rendering techniques crytek has come up with. You're crazy to think the 360 or PS3 versions will even scratch the surface of what the graphics engine in this game is ACTUALLY capable of.

The 360 is running a modified DX9+ GPU, meaning it can render some DX10 features, such as post processing (depth of field, HDR, motion blur), but not all consistently, and at the same time.

This game requires (on PC) a DX11 compatible card, and over a thousand MB of ram (xbox only has 512mb unified) to run properly, and even at that, it will push the current list of top end GFX cards to their limits.

Check my sig, my computer is a year old, and can run EVERYTHING currently out on highest quality over 60fps on DX11 settings--no matter what game it is--and i personally think i wont be able to run this in 1080p on DX11 maxxed out.

Im getting the beta as i type this, for PC and 360, and i plan on toggling back and forth to see the differences in the visuals, and im going to bet the 360 version wont even look half--yes 50% as good--as the PC version on my rig.

Why is everybody so obsessed with graphics that's not what makes a good or bad game. Sure its nice to have good graphics but the gameplay is what really matters. As long as its fun to play I could care less about the graphics. I had a blast playing g this game more so than call of duty.

If the graphics don't even meet the standard of this gen, I refuse to look at it, I can't play something that makes me want to vomit.

Uh, yeah it is. Only Uncharted 3 and Halo 4 look better IMO.

People, don't be stupid! The current gen consoles have been maxed out. Stop expecting every new game that comes out to make some huge graphical leap. It's just not possible anymore. From the beta, I think this looks just like Crysis 2; which looked fantastic. I didn't expect 3 to look better and it doesn't need to.
