Remember back when Doom, Duke Nukem 3D and more came out and ALL the levels in all those games were wide open for full exploration? Why is it that shooters back in the day seem to have better understanding of utilizing space than all of these modern corridor shooters do now? It's like the industry should've started by making corridor shooters and now they should only be making more open ended ones. Why did they go backwards?

Kevin VanOrd put on a nanosuit for a video review of the PC version of Crysis 2.
it really should; not to mention that the Ceph drones in the first game are far more effective than the infantry in the second. it just doesn't make sense.@Spacemancer
A few months back, I played for like 1 hour but wasn't really interested at ALL, but now I've started a new campaign and like 3 or 4 hours into it, really enjoying it!
It's not really like Crysis but I thought it was an awesome campaign. Lot's of fun even though it's not as open ended.
Its a good game but nothing compared to crysis where the hell did the freedom go? the sandbox!? i feel like im going in a straight line all the time there isnt any depth in the game anymore. the only thing this has got going for it is the new graphics nothing more and some times i feel like crysis had better graphics........... I think ill stick with playing crysis rather than crysis 2 this game sucks!!!!!
I don't understand how the company that made this went from Crysis where almost everything in the enviroment is moddable, to this where you can shoot civil npc's and the bullets go through them???????? And the Aliens? Like What!?
Actual rubbsih story, why the hell were the aliens different from the first one? Compared to most fps it is good but after my first playthrough i just didn't feel the need to play on it again. Give me crysis 1 anyday of the week.
This game is cool, but its not anywhere close to being as cool as Crysis. What happened to sandbox? These episodic linear shooters are a dime a dozen. I'll pass on Call Of Crysis.
I JUST FINISH CRYSIS 2 ON PC BEFORE 10 MINUTES. GREAT GAME I HOPE RAGE WILL BE SO GOOD LIKE CRYSIS 2. FOR NOW AND THIS YEAR CRYSIS 2 IS THE BEST FPS IN 2011 AND ALL FOR ALL TIME BEST GRAPHIC IN FPS.
I usually agree with this guy but this review is just crap. Is he really reviewing the PC version?! So overrated.
this is not crysis anymore. They copied halo and CoD ideas how ORIGINAL........ I was going to mention bad graphics but now they improved with dx11 patch, it looks like a cryis game finally. Imagine Crysis 1 with this engine!
I think the draw backs are all because Crytek wanted to make the game more accessible to people, so consoles and people with medium spec computers could run it.
hahaha, Lol.. edited review for PC. previous orignal review posted for Crysis 2 on PC had 90% console footage & no mention of how Crysis 2 is on the PC.
You know.. despite the "dumbing down" of this game for the console crowd i actually really enjoyed this game.. i bought this game last week and stayed up pretty much through the night playing the campaign and now i'm playing through on a harder difficulty, i also really like how smooth this game runs considering how great it looks.. and even if you're PC isn't top of the line you still get a great experience and a top notch looking game, it scales really well.
@BARBECUDEBABIES We can spoil whatever we want, but we don't. We make a very conscious effort to spoil as little as possible, but the very nature of a "VIDEO" review will show you stuff. Crazy I know, seeing stuff in a video. We have a warning at the beginning, you could have stopped at any point to avoid spoilers, but you didn't. I don't really see the issue.
and this is why this guy needs to stick to reviewing rpgs, gives away spoilers. why say that theres an opening for a sequel you might as well of speiled the whole story out you douche
the characters in this game is trying so hard to look cool but unfortunately not my type killzone 2 character design is much better, hell even bulletstorm imho.
As an initial console gamer, controls are thankfully better mapped from the akward Crysis controller option and it's consolified aspect has at least lowered barriers for fans and future sequels dispite the less open backdrops of the predecessors.
Compared to Crysis and Crysis Warhead, this game is somehow boring and ordinary.Im starting to regret my purchase, they simply removed almost everything that made first Crysis and Warhead so special.
crysis 2 got less adventures moment compared to C&C:W for me...ah, well, Crysis 2 still got huge pack of action..It's just..I miss shooting some trees like in Crysis =(
@02050muh Less buggy? Obviously you haven't played Crysis. Of course it isn't going to require a high end system, it was made to run smooth on 5yr old console hardware. Close minded? I'm sure you would mind if this game was designed to run on Xbox and had to be "limited" to do so. You don't seem to like it when your PS3 loses exclusivity of a game, but so long as it doesn't affect you it's otherwise all right. Stick to the adolescent fanboy wars, it's all you console gamers do anyway.
why pc gamers complain about this game? this is a great game..less buggy, less headache from crysis 1..nothing to do with port..i run it on extreme spec n full AA on,n it played VERY SMOOTH without lag..i think some of close minded pc gamer really don't want the series to be 'un-exclusive'..what a child..
"Crysis 2 was an exelent game i realy had fun playing it but its not crysis thats because they wanted to port it on consloes and the consloles dont have the power that needet for huge maps and real open world" i LOL at this statement...i used crossfireX on crysis 1 and guess what...it crash on the last boss lvl on very high spec..i need to use dx9 to play it smoothly..crysis have a buggy engine,n cryengine3 make it run more smoothly without framerate drop. n pc gamers love to brag about consoles doen't have the capacity to run like pc..while some of that are true, only high end pc have superior capability i hate PC GAMERS acting like that (or all gamers who played on pc ONLY acting like that)
this 'review' seems more like a commercial. Justifying everything and being on the defense the whole time. Its sick.
Crysis 2 was an exelent game i realy had fun playing it but its not crysis thats becouse they wanted to port it on consloes and the consloles dont have the power that needet for huge maps and real open world,But its one from the best games i played in 2010 and 2011
good review, it reflect my opinion about the game, the single player campaign is good, and the graphics are gorgeous, sadly the multiplayer is just a filthy call of duty copy
Fore Me this Game is a 50/50 The Graphic is not near the same as the First Crysis was.In The Firs Crysis Game You Could ajust your graphic setting but you cant do that on Crysis 2 and the reason for that is they had to make it for consoles to it a shame really
what happen to going back to the island to find prophet? bring back nomad and psycho and why are the aliens completely different?
A Far Cry from the first game. Limited options and visuals en queue with a relatively weak story and linear game play. Cloak engaged! Cloak engaged! A good console game but not worth the purchase for those PC enthusiasts who waited 4 years too see more, not less.
"Corridor shooters" what games has kevin been playing lately? I don't recall any recent fps games "ushering" me down any corridors. Just beat Crysis 2, which felt more like a chore than entertainment.
Put the difficulty on 'Post human war or something' then play the game its fuking awesome and all the sluggish AI seems like they are freaking smart and know how to put you in a corner but still I will complain about the accuracy in post human mode. the aiming should have been more deadly like one shot kill from the AI which happens very rarely. BTW, I am a hardcore PC fan But a SOLID GAME, will give it 9.5/10 but still there are very minor bugs if you're not an eagle eyed gamer you wont feel it.
