Get the jump on the Ceph with this Starting Block for Crysis 2!
I'll probably endup tagged a thief, but... I sometimes download pirate games, which was the case with Crysis2, but the very next day I went on my way to the nearest retailer and bought a legit copy... But not all games (developers) are quite as lucky. How many times have you guys came home from the store and f*cked yourself in the head for buying this piece of crap. Sure, you can resell, but I'm a gamer, not a game store owner... So, the piracy is a wrong thing, most of the time, but as long as you keep it honest thats one of the ways to know exactly what you are buxing. I'm hoping to see the day where you'll be able to try the game (hence, demos are quite rare these days) before you buyit. Legally. Sorry guys, I know I'm a part of the problem but I've failed on so many titles so I want to know for sure...
Or you could just turn your stealth on and go past them...but thats not as fun! ;) Also doesn't matter what you play the game on true gamers care about gameplay before graphics and Crysis 2 is one of them games that has fun gameplay and good graphics. So true Plaintomato, i don't have a mod console, it would be too much pain to geti t done and then i have to make sure not to update it. Much easyer to just DLC pirate PC games or just rent or buy console verison.
@Nodashi Dude, I've got nothing to win, and I'm certainly not an MS or Sony fanboy, I'm just telling it like it is. All I want is great games. Good luck trying to "educate" people with falsehoods. Just about every AAA game dev, the people who make the actual decisions, will tell you the same thing I did. Just 'cause it sucks don't make it not true.
@Nodashi http://www.tweakguides.com/Piracy_6.html ...the scale of piracy is far lower on consoles than it is on PCs. Looking at torrent data for the same games on PC vs. XBox 360 vs. PS3, we saw that the number of downloads of the PC version is often five or ten times higher than the console versions. The number of individual active torrents for the console versions were also noticeably lower; in some cases there were no PS3 torrents at all for certain games. The most likely reason is that undertaking console piracy is not as straightforward an exercise as PC piracy for the average user. To successfully play a pirated game on a console, you need to modify the console in some way, whether by installing a 'mod chip', or flashing the console with custom firmware. Indeed on some consoles, even these steps are not enough...
Good thing the footage is from the 360 version. The PC version has been run into the ground enough, why show anything from the better looking version.
@plaintomato No, rly. Xbox piracy equals PC piracy. Google it. I'm not in the mood to educate people AGAIN here. I did it so many times recently. You cab also look into my posts, you'll find links (not to IGN, to research institutes). Console lovers are boring. They deny the obvious cause they wanna "win" something. Guess what - only Microsoft or Sony stakeholders gain anything with console wars.
@Nodashi Blaming piracy a fallacy? Okay, whatever helps you sleep at night. Crytek put sales to pirated copies at nearly 1:20, and, recognizing that not all pirated copies are lost sales, they put sales to sales-lost-to-piracy at 1:5. And while there is piracy on the consoles its just a simple fact that the consoles have tighter control with less DRM related user pain - used game sales are the plague for consoles, and that will end with this generation. Just search "Crysis Piracy" and then tell me that it wasn't a factor on their profitability and the decision to support consoles.
a good tip they forgot, when in cloaked before you shoot someone Un-cloak yourself just before you shot to save your energy then cloak again once you made your kill.
@plaintomato "blaming piracy" is the most accepted falacy in the game industry. Xbox titles are as pirates da PC titles. Reality is, young people have less money and more time, so selling games for a 199 dollars platform is a good plan, cause a LOT of people will buy. On the other hand, GOOD gaming PCs are expensive AND the casual crowd (even those with cash) don't like the complexity they offer - because they don't see it as a good thing.
@Wallix Torrent sites robbed them blind when Crysis was released. Don't expect anymore big budget PC exclusives of single-player-centric games. Thank your friend the pirate. They didn't care whose money it was, they just thought they should get paid for a stellar game. You blame them? I would too...if I didn't have opposable thumbs. Console exclusives are very insensitive to people without thumbs.
I was on the fence about this game but it's not so bad. Not the best FPS out there but fun none the less. The 360 version looks really good and so far I've only encountered a few places where the frame rate drops too much. There are places where the AI doesn't work but for the most part it does it's job. I would give it about an 8
Im about 2 hours into this game, and I've yet to be wowed by the singlepleyer like every review says. But considering every review has also told me that the true meat of the game comes after 2 hours I hope im in for a treat next time I sit down with this game. But I do enjoy the in game update HUBs, it adds alot to the game's ambience surprisingly.
Totally agree with phantom. They didn't even finish the game and they release it what kind of nonsense is that. How does Crysis 1 come out with dx10 but Crysis 2 comes out with dx9! WTF! Very disappointing.
Oh yeah, Escape from Butcher Bay was up there too in its day. But that's really it. A sadly short list for the last 10 or 15 years.
There are very few FPS single player campaigns this good. The Half-Life series, Far Cry and Crysis, the original Deus Ex and the first Bio-Shock. I can't think of any other single player FPS campaigns that rank with this group...really I can't, that's it. And I've been playing FPS games as long as they've been around. There are surprisingly few truly great single player campaigns in this genre. Portal I guess, but that's almost part of the Half-Life series.
@gmreedy Yeah I noticed the mech battle in the terminal still had the lights on, whereas in the final game it's a blackout. That was a neat surprise though.
Wow, how pretty is the PC version? I wish Crytek had ramped-up the engine for the PS3 version. Never mind, it's not as pretty as KZ3 but has more to keep you hooked... and it's still waaaaaaaaaay more fun than COD!
@Dominus-Nox on mute/next to no volume We work in an office building and don't disturb our co-workers. Especially when it's Nancy pants @TomM_GScom.
I plugged in my scorch 360 Mouse+nunchuck configuration crysis 2 on the xbox 360. 3.4 k.d(2.1 on pc version) I hope you enjoy me fragging you all the time console fanboys because i have you to thank this game is unplayable in the pc version due to hackers and serial error stat resets. Now enjoy me giving you the beating of a lifetime with my newly purchased scorch.
"and a scope for maximum range!" he says as he puts the ACOG on the sniper rifle instead of the sniper scope
