- The Bottom Line:
- "All flash, no substance"
Crysis 2 , as everybody should know by now, takes place in New York City instead of in a tropical island.
Sandbox freedom is not here this time, and instead youll have to make your way from point A to B with a very linear fashion almost every mediocre FPS nowadays use.
A lot of things are re polished here if you compare some aspects of Crysis 2 to Crysis Warhead. Such as some graphics enhancements, better controls schemes, and no much more.
The lack of freedom here is really notable and action gets old pretty quickly and in some way "repetitive". Some moments in the game make their best to be epic and thrilling but some other sequences like shooting encounters with aliens can get very lame. Not mentioning the AI is as dumb as it can get.
Sometimes bots can get stuck or just immobilized, just to name a few bugs.
So, if you just forget about this couple of sad situations, the overall look of the game is really nice and youll have an enjoyable ride.
Story: just the continuation of the previous 2 games. Nothing interesting or too complicated but good enough to keep you hooked.
Graphics: delicious, the best aspect of the game.
Gameplay: very conformable and maneuverable.
Bugs: quite a few and the lack of freedom comparing with the previous games sucks.
Multiplayer: is OK, any regular FPS has this basics modes, nothing special.
All in all, Crysis 2 is an OK game. Sometimes it will remind you of Halo 3 in various occasions, seriously, it has some very interesting similarities anyone who plays both game will know what im talking about here.
My advice, rent it first or play it in a friend's house. Its not really worth the purchase but hey, its not a bad game either by any means. The only thing is that Crysis 2 does not deliver the same as Crysis 1 once did.
Cheers.

Crysis 2 continues its saga direct to NYC. Amazing Graphic and none-stop action. However, is it still worth the hype?

A graphically great sequel featuring a fun, tactical campaign and great music. It's far better than the average FPS.

Crysis 2 offers linear gameplay with scripted events all over the place. You dont play the game, the game plays you.
